Gabriella POV

I have been avoiding the royals for three days, to my surprise it wasn't as hard as it seemed. They had schedules and I knew when and were I should be. Plus the mansion did help with hiding, well I thought it did.

"Maid" i heard a mans voice echo, I turned my head to the side slowly while turning around.

Their was three men standing behind me, one who I did not want to see. I slowly approached them with the mop still tightly gripped.

They were all wearing armour, and I knew that meant they were leaving soon. I stood before them not making eye contact with anyone.

"I am no genius but shouldn't she be kneeling down to the prince?" I look up to see a man with ginger hair, staring at me as if I committed a crime.

I curtsied in front of prince Alec, who I didn't bother looking at. I stood up straight and notice the ginger man pouring his wine all over the floor I spent all morning scrubbing.

"Clean it up maid" he instructed

I nodded, turning around to go get a sponge. I felt an arm pull me back.

"I need a sponge" I whisper

The ginger and the man with the hamlet beside him let out a roaring laugh, I look at Alec who had an emotionless expression plastered on his face.

"You have a mouth don't ya?" He rhetorically asked, while pushing me down on the floor. the mop flew out of my hand.

I stared at the pool of red wine on the ground my reflection looking back at me, I had tears in my eyes as I looked up at Alec, who didn't say a word. He only stared at me as if I was nothing.

"Go on then! Hurry up!" The ginger growled impatiently.

I lowered my head down and closed my eyes, a tear falling down my cheek, before my tongue could touch the wine that was on the floor I felt an arm around my waist lifting me up.

The arms wrapped around my waist securely and I felt safe, even though I didn't know who it was I knew that I was safe.

I stare at Alec who was in front of me he looked at the person behind me then slowly back at me. I had tears running down my face although he didn't seem to care his mouth curled into a smile as if I had this coming. I didn't understand what was going on, he was always so sweet to me.

He turned around and walked away, the two knights followed behind him. I turned around and to my surprise saw his handsome face.

George

"Gabriella, are you okay ?" He asked softly

I shook my head as I began to cry uncontrollably, he hugged me tightly as I buried my head in his chest and sobbed like a baby.

"Don't worry, I will protect you." He whispers kissing the top of my head

"George, where is your brother-"

He let go of me, and I took a few steps back as Aria was staring at us her jaw dropped, she shook her head and walked towards us.

"Why are you crying, Oh don't tell me you looked in the mirror and realised how extremely unpleasant you are to look at?" Aria says giving me a fake smile

"Alec thought it was funny for him and a few knights to humiliate her, forcing her to drink wine of the floor." George says crossing his arms

Aria let out a laugh as if she was impressed  "I am getting really sick of seeing you more then I see any other maids, why don't you just hide in the corner like they all do."

"You think I'm not getting sick of seeing you?" I snapped, immediately regretting it as I realised she was the future queen.

Aria was about to attack me before George stood in front of me like a human shield "My brother went outside, as should you if you know what's good for you."

"Are you threatening me?" she asked smiling

"Trust me, Aria, when I am threatening you, you'll know about it." George spoke with so much authority, she turned around and walked away.

George turned around and looked at me and shook his head "You spoke up for yourself just then, I'm proud of you."

"It was stupid, I should if just kept my mouth shut."

"It would of made things a whole lot easier but, I always admire a women who can speak up."

I let out a small laugh, while drying my tears with my sleeve "This day hasn't even began properly and it already sucked."

George chuckled while holding his hand out, I placed my hand in his where it fit perfectly.

"How about, I take you out far away from this environment and just hang out?"

"You mean like a second date?" I ask smiling brightly

"Yes, but this time it would be more then an hour and no one around to bother us."

I nodded, this time it wasn't because I was afraid of what he would do if I said no, I nodded because I actually wanted to be around George.

"Go upstairs and change, I'll be waiting for you outside." He softly spoke, he leaned towards me and kissed my forehead before walking away.

He turned back a few times and smiled at me, I quickly ran upstairs, I was eager to get out of this castle.
