Cas bit the inside of his lip to keep from cursing.

"Hello?" Came the female voice from the other line.

Cas cleared his throat. "I'm here." His voice sounded hoarse.

"I need to see you, Cas." Amelia said. Her voice was soft and sweet like honey. Honey... that was the nickname he once called her. He shook the thought from his head.

"Why would you want to see me?" Cas asked.

"Please. Just meet me for coffee?"

"Fine." Cas said and he arranged to meet her at a coffee shop several blocks from his or Dean's apartment buildings. He didn't want him to get the wrong idea.

Once Cas arrived at the coffee shop, Luci's Cage, he surveyed the cafe and found the blonde hair he knew too well... the fair skin of the woman he once loved. Amelia.

He would've walked out of the shop then and there if she hadn't spotted him. She raised her hand to let him know where she was. He had no choice but to go over to her and actually hold a conversation.

He sat down in the chair across from Amelia. "I ordered you some coffee." She said, motioning to a mug filled with dark liquid in front of him. "You always were an avid coffee drinker."

Cas stared at the coffee and then lightly pushed it away from him. "What do you want, Amelia?"

"Why do you think I want anything, Cas?" Amelia says in a soft voice. Not only was her voice soft, but it was too soft. Like she was losing it.

"It's Castiel." Cas said quickly.

Amelia frowned. "Please don't be bitter about this-" she started "can't we just be friends?"

Cas was shocked by the words coming out of her mouth. She had kicked him out years ago because he told her he was gay. She filed a lawsuit against him because she didn't want him 'spreading the disease' onto their daughter.

"No. We can't just be friends." He replied, leaning forward over the table so nobody else would hear what he was about to say. "You kicked me out and told me to never try and contact you or Claire ever again. All because I'm gay." He spits. "So no, Amelia, we can't just be friends."

He stands up and is about to storm out of the cafe when he feels a shaky hand on his arm. "Castiel. Please." She says.

Cas turns his head around and notices the tears in Amelia's eyes, the bags under her eyelids. He felt bad for her, which is why he sat back down.

"What do you want?" He asked again after taking a sip of his coffee. This time his voice was softer.

"I want you to sign custody papers." Amelia said, her voice quivering. "I want you to become Claire's legal guardian."

A/N: Hi peoples. I am so sorry for not uploading in over a month. I've just been busy and have been having the absolute worst writers block! I know where I want to go with this story but I've had no motivation to write.

I just don't want to write something just to get it out there. I want it to be good for y'all and I want it to be quality. I'll update as soon as I finish the next chapter!
