Hikari's head was spinning.
Everything looked blurry. The scent of flowers filled my nose.
Such a wonderful smell to wake up to.
I looked up at the dark star filled sky. I sat up and scanned my surroundings. I was in a garden, filled with different flowers. Some looked like Trumpet flowers and other varieties. Tall thick green brush lined around the garden with two exits. Then suddenly a red haired girl popped up in front of my face.
"What are you doing sleeping in the flowers?" She questioned.
"WHA!" I yelped.
I stumbled back startled, I gripped my chest. My heart pounded. The girl giggled.
Where did she come from?!
I looked up at her, she had short red hair and deep blue eyes, with a white tank top and a light purple skirt and big white shoes.
"Sorry to scare you, I just tried to wake you up." She laughed.
I waited for my heart to slow and my breathing to become normal again.
"It's, okay. I was already awake." I gave an uneasy smile.
"That's good, didn't want to give you a heart attack. My name is Kairi by the way." She greeted and held out her hand.
A name came to mind, my name.
"I'm, Hikari." I grabbed her hand and she helped me to my feet.
I could tell that she was a kind girl with a bright heart, and that I could trust her. She seemed a bit younger than me. Maybe a few years. I stood up and brushed the grass off. I turned and looked at one of the exits.
Where am I?
"So can you help me out? I kinda got lost in here and, I need to find the way back." Kairi asked ashamed.
"How did you get lost in here?" I wondered.
She giggled. "I was looking for some flowers, and I went too far in. Everything looks the same in this maze. Until I happened to find you." Kairi answered smiling.
"This is a maze? That's just great." I slumped over.
"Hey wait. What were you doing sleeping in the flowers? How did you get here?" Kairi put her hands on her hips.
I looked up at the stars, then scratched my shoulder.
"I'm not sure. I don't really remember. I just, woke up here." I told her honestly.
"That's sad to hear... Hmm." Kairi mumbled.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing... We can help each other find a way out of the maze." Kairi clasped her hands together.
I looked down and saw She was holding a bunch of white flowers and a few other colored ones, yellow and blue. She grinned.
"Alright. Which way first?" I stepped up to one of the brush entrances.
"I think it was right. That's the way I came in this flower patch." She stated.
"Okay." I nodded.
I walked out of the flowery room next to Kairi and out into the vast maze filled with green. I looked over to Kairi as we walked. She was so happy, and she almost always had a smile on her face.
I wish I could be as carefree as her.
After awhile of making our way through the maze it seemed like we were making no progress, and we were getting tired from walking. It was just a guessing game of which way to go. And we could have been going around in circles the whole time. I stopped and sat down in the long fluffy grass, Kairi sat beside me. Her once cheerful face now dull with sorrow.
