Chapter 35: Last Amendment

Hikari turned around from the doors that closed behind her. My eyes adjusted to the dark, allowing me to see a bit of my surroundings. There was a large hallway. I walked down the hallway and saw an opening, and went in. Everything was made out of dark grey stone. There was a hint of faded blue moonlight casting in from the windows. They were made out of stained glass, full of different colors. The other room was long and tall, above me I could see archways. I looked down and brought my attention to the strange windows. I stepped closer and saw on either side of the hallway were stained glass. On the walls the glass had pictures of people in them, it looked like my friends. There were thirteen that I could see. There were more further down the long hallway, but it was too far to see who the others were.

I continued walking until suddenly I saw someone running down the hallway, it was Aqua. But she stopped and spotted me then continued to run away.

"Aqua, wait!" I called out to her.

But she kept running until she jumped into one of the windows. She was absorbed by it, like it really wasn't there, or something was behind it. I quickly chased after her until I approached a green stained glass window. As I got closer it looked like there was darkness coming out of it. I stepped forward to examine it. Then a dark portal appeared in front of me. I was startled but then I calmed down. I reached out my hand, my vision went dark.

I opened my eyes to see that I was in a separate room. I looked around and saw that I was inside of Ven's heart. I looked down and found that I was standing on the stained glass, but it looked like Vanitas was a part of the picture, a part of his heart. I looked over to the center of the glass and I saw that they were standing there.

I need to figure out what's going on, they might know.

"Ven." I called.

I reached out my hand and tried to run to them again, but they vanished right in front of me.

What is going on? Why is everyone vanishing? Why are they all leaving? 

"Follow me..." A voice said from behind.

I quickly turned around and saw that a door had appeared. Ven and Vanitas had re-appeared and both opened the door and ran off into the darkness. I tried to follow them and came to see a glass staircase. I bolted up the stairs, trying to reach them, trying to find answers.

What are they trying to show me?

I looked up to see Terra was above me. I stopped running.

"Terra?" I asked.

He leaned over the railing and dropped something off of the staircase. I tried to reach out and grab it.

His way finder...

But it was too far away. 

"No..." I said, sorrow filling me. 

All I could do was watch it fall all the way down. Terra ran away up the rest of the stairs. I decided to continue to chase him, but he was too far ahead.

A thought came to my mind.

Were these all the hearts that were deceived by the darkness?

I kept running to see where they would lead me, desperately trying to reach the end. Everything went dark again until I appeared outside at night. I looked around to see that I arrived on city streets. There were tall buildings looming above me, and lights streaming down from them. I scanned my surroundings until I saw someone standing off in the distance, It was Sora. I was surprised.

I ran over to him, releaved. "Please, don't run away from me." I called out.

He turned around, his face was confused. "Why would I run away? I'm trying to find everyone."
