Hikari and Pyua walked down the dark tunnel together. Towards the light, ever getting closer to the end. The blinding light wouldn't reveal yet what was to be seen.

What will I find, on the other side?

All that could be heard were our footsteps in the dirt. The light shone brighter and brighter, until it began to turn orange. Dark smoke started to pour in, and finally, we made it to the end. We emerged on the other side. My mouth gaped open at what I saw. The air was dense with smoke, making it hard to breathe. It hung close to the buildings, preventing us to see far. Ash and embers fell from the burning buildings above.

"No..." Pyua denied.

"How could they have done this." I spoke.

The entire town was now on fire. Nothing was soon to remain of Daybreak Town. The fires cast yellow light on the lingering clouds above. But the ground was clear of darkness.

Where had the Heartless gone from earlier?

"Hatred, that's what made them do this." Chirithy answered.

I looked to Pyua. He was crossing his arms, staring at the ground with a concerned expression. I faced him.

"We need to find a way out of here safely, to get back to our friends. They must be out there already, waiting for us. It's more dangerous out there than it is in here right now. I can't imagine  what it's like... We have to hurry." I said determined.

He nodded, looking up at me. "It's our job to keep each other safe, we can't let the time run out."

We both had positive looks on our faces.

"But, which way do we go? The town is burning." Chirithy spoke.

We all looked out to the buildings.

"We can't travel by rooftop now. We will have to stay on the ground." I replied.

"Right." Pyua agreed.

I stepped forward and Pyua followed. Then we began to run, we took the road to the left. Closer to the buildings the fire grew bright. The flames burned bigger and the fire spread. We rushed past as fast as we could. Soon the fire will consume everything, and nothing but rubble would remain. We neared the center of town, the buildings began to get closer together, increasing the intensity of the flames. We continued running.

The air started to burn my lungs. My eyes stung and teared up. The only hope we had left, was the chance of finding our friends in all of this. I led the way as we got closer to the center. But then I heard a loud crash and the house next to us collapsed bringing down the burning wood, threatening to crush us.

"Watch out!" Pyua shouted.

He pulled me back before it landed. I fell to the ground but caught myself with my hands. Pyua fell down behind me. I looked up to our path, now blocked by burning beams. Then I turned to Pyua.

I stood up. "You alright?" I reached my hand down to him.

"Yes, but that was really close. You have to be more careful." He responded taking my hand. He stood, but didn't let go.

"Is it safe to even keep going?" Chirithy asked.

"We can't stop, we have to go on." I answered.

"We have to find our friends, and get out of this place." Pyua squinted his eyes.

He bolted forwards taking me along with him, towards the burning rubble. I held onto Chirithy. Then we jumped through the fire. The flames circled around us, only for a second I felt the intense heat. But then we fell through and landed on the other side. We continued running.
Every building was now ablaze. More and more destroyed at our sides as we rushed through what was left of Daybreak Town. I covered my nose and mouth with my hand. Pyua covered his face with his sleeve. He still held my hand, leading me through the burning path.
