A Friend On The Inside

3 weeks pass by, and New Manhattan gets worse, 2 days ago Cletus hung 9 people for speaking out the truth of his power; that he is a dictator and not a president. The citizens including the four have lost completely hope for the city to change. However, one man is against Cletus Cox's ways, Devin Watson, a 76 year old man with one leg missing and Lung Cancer, and the Vice President of New Manhattan. Devin helps the people in any way possible; food, water, justice, anything. Due to Cletus Cox's death system, Devin doesn't publicly speak out or cause any disruption to Cletus' city, he only tends to the people's needs. He noticed Ben and Jason spoke to Cletus about how he runs New Manhattan. Devin goes to their apartment to speak with them. "Ben, Jason I have to speak to you." Said Devin. "You're the Vice President of New Manhattan, Why haven't you fixed anything in this city?" Asked Jason. "I am aware of that. The reason I haven't done anything is because I fear for my life, and New Manhattan." Said Devin. "Why?" Said Ben. "I believe that if I start a revolution against Cletus, I will lose and my followers will be executed for treason." Said Devin. "So that's why you haven't done anything here." Said Ben. "I'm pretty sure you're not here to talk to us only about that." Said Jason. "You're right, I came to speak to you about a way you can put Cletus out of power. This is one thing I've wanted ever since New Manhattan was made and he put me out of power." Said Devin. "You used to the President of New Manhattan?" Said Ben. "Correct, sadly, I don't know how much time I have left on this world." Said Devin. "What makes you say that." Said Jason. "I have Lung Cancer, I was diagnosed 7 years ago. I want to see Cletus Cox's body in a coffin before I meet mine. Can you two, do that for me?" Said Devin. "Yeah, I think we can do that." Said Ben. "Thank you, I know it's a big thing to ask of the both of you, asking anyone to murder the one who is in charge of their area is a hard thing to do. The doctors say I have only 9 months to a year and 3 months left to live because of this fucking cancer." Said Devin. 2 weeks past, and Ben and Jason still haven't assassinated Cletus Cox yet. They still fear if they kill him, the law enforcement will hunt them down, find them, and execute them. Finally, they make up their mind, "You know what, fuck it, we get caught, we get caught." Said Jason. "Yeah, you're right, fuck it." Said Ben. At the end of the day, Ben and Jason enter the Capital Hall and find his personal room. Ben finds his room and tells Jason,"Damn, no guards, nothing." Said Ben. They pull out their knives and start stabbing Cletus in his bed. Cletus screams for help while no one can hear him. Ben stabs him for one final time in the throat, like he said he would if Cletus ever threatened Norman again. They stay in the room and watch Cletus slowly die in a pool of blood and his bed soaking the blood. When Cletus is finally dead, Ben and Jason head back to their apartment before the guards find out what happened to their dictator.
