.:: chapter two - tainted ::.

Maybe it was the dark clothing, loud music, and tattoos that made Joshua so intimidating to the standard person. Maybe it was the classy 'fuck off' attitude, or the looks that often sent shivers down your spine. Something about him was dangerous, mysterious, and overall the complete opposite of Tyler Joseph, so why did the loving brunet have such an infatuation with the next door neighbor?
That was seemingly unknown to the young boy with the plump freckle dusted cheeks.
"Mama, I'm gonna go tend to the garden, I'll be back soon I promise." Tyler told his mother, fixing the straps of his tank top and pulling his skirt down a little so the fabric sat comfortably on his hips.
"Okay, lovely. Just make sure you're careful! Don't want someone as wonderful as you getting hurt." She said back, smiling at the brunet who was holding a packet of different types of seeds.
"Of course, mama." Tyler giggled, turning around to walk out the back door of the spacious home. The wooden fence provided a nice amount of privacy for the Joseph's whenever they wanted to either go swimming or just have gatherings around the fire pit.
The fresh cut green grass, standing out against the pink rose bushes planted in the ground, and the fresh red strawberries waiting to be picked and eaten. The peaceful sound of water rushing made its way around Tyler's mind as the water of the pool flowed down the waterfall they had installed. Everything about the backyard was well taken care of, beautiful, and pure.
"Hello little Leo." The feminine boy said with a giggle, leaning down to pet the bird that often hung around the garden. One year Tyler found the baby bird injured, so he nursed it back to health, gave him a name, and let him be free once he was properly healed.
Now the bird always flew back to the garden and let Tyler pick him up whenever he wanted. To other strangers, Leo, wasn't as friendly.
"Look at you, you're so beautiful." He said mesmerized at the blue swirling of color, accented by the white streaks at the tail, and black spots here and there. Leo was a blue jay, and possibly one of Tyler's favorite birds just by their color and how they were.
The brunet let down the bird onto the wood post, wiping his hands together to get the excess dirt off his hands. He sighed when he saw he forgot the water bucket for the plants, and put all the seed packets back into one organized pile. Trudging to the front yard, Tyler smiled at the old couple across the street greeting them with a simple hello and small wave.
The brunet stood with his hands behind his back as he waited for the garage door to open. His patient waiting only being interrupted by the next door neighbor loudly shouting at someone to "Fuck off." Tyler peered over next door, blushing bright red when the boy spotted him staring.
"The fuck you looking at, freckles?" He asked, arms coming out as he huffed out his chest in anger from whatever happened before.
"N-nothing." The feminine boy stuttered, looking down at the floor to keep from having any tears spill in front of the mean boy.
Josh rolled his eyes as he watched the small brunet quietly try to sniffle.
"Don't start fucking crying." He said.
"I c-can't help it. I don't like being yelled at." Tyler sniffled, wiping the tears off his dark spotted cheeks and tanned skin.
And for some odd reason, Joshua felt a tinge of sympathy for the unfamiliar small boy clad in a baby pink skirt, and white floral tank top. Huffing to himself, Josh jogged over to the crying boy, rubbing his neck awkwardly.
"Look, I had a bad day and I didn't mean to take my anger out on you." He said, not technically apologizing, but not acting like a complete dick either.
But of course with Tyler's need to make everyone happy, he gazed up at the slightly taller boy with a sad look on his face. "Why? What happened?" He asked meekly, the tip of his nose red from crying.
Josh looked at Tyler with a bothered expression, but still answered the question. "My parents are dicks, that's why." The brunet tilted his head in confusion, but didn't decide to question it. Instead, he looked to his left where he grew Cara's favorite flowers, Daisies, and picked one.
With a shy smile, and blush tinting his speckled cheeks, he handed over the flower to Josh.
"Nobody deserves to have a bad day. If you ever need to talk to anyone you have me. m' names Tyler." He sweetly smiled. Josh took the flowers with slight hesitation, but seeing the bright look on Tyler's face hint at sadness from him not taking the flower, kinda made him feel bad.
"I'm Joshua, but don't call me that." Is all he said.
"What do I call you then?" Tyler pouted, his eyes widened while a smile appeared on his face. "I'll just call you Jishwa. Technically i didn't say Joshua, and I'm sure the nickname Josh gets boring after a while." He explained with a giggle, Josh listened but barley.
The purity of the boy standing in front of him was driving him crazy. He had never seen someone so... innocent to the world and everything around him. From the dimpled indent on his freckled covered cheeks, to his wide doe eyes, and clothing attire.
"Tyler Joseph, get inside right now!" Ruth yelled from the front door, her eyes glaring at the tatted boy on his driveway holding a beautiful yellow Daisy, and basking in the presence of the feminine boy.
"Coming mama!" He shouted back. "Remember what I said. If you ever have a bad day or even feel sad, I'm right next door, okay Jishwa?" He said, with a hint of a question at the end.
"Okay, Bambi." Josh smiled, watching Tyler's cheeks flush and his mothers nose flare.
"I gotta go now." Tyler whispered nervously, pointing back at his mother before taking off in her direction with rosy red cheeks, and his heart accelerating.
Joshua gave him a nickname, and smiled at him. That meant they were one step closer to being friends.
