"Do you believe in happy endings." Tyler asked as he laid on Josh's chest, his left leg thrown over Josh's waist, as his fingers drew patterns on the older boy's bare chest.
Joshua shrugged, his lips pursing out as he thought hard about the question. Josh's left hand was wrapped around Tyler's shoulder, his palm rubbing the small boys arm.
"I believe you can have any ending you desire, if you take the right route." Josh answered, peering down at his boyfriend who was already looking at him.
"What do you mean?" Tyler asked, his innocent attitude coming back in full force. His eyebrows furrowed, wide eyes holding so much interest, and lower lip jutted out past the top lip in a cute little pout.
"Well... for instance, my dad could have had a happy ending. He could've had a successful business, a trophy wife, and a son... but with the choices he made, that happy ending turned sour. You see Bambi, people want all the time. Sometimes it's things that they can't reach, and sometimes it's things they can reach, but just because you can't reach something doesn't mean it's not there, and doesn't mean you can't eventually reach it. It's just some people don't attempt to try it, and all it could've taken was that one attempt, one try, and they could've had what they wanted." Joshua explained, his eyes fixated on the saccharine freckled beauty laying next to him.
"Woah, you're very smart Joshie." Tyler whispered, rubbing his nose against the skin of Josh's neck as he sighed deeply, enjoying the order males manly scent.
"I wouldn't think of it as being smart, I'd think of it as being logical. You shouldn't have to be told that you could do anything you desired with a bit of effort. You should already know that." He said again. "Of course, not everyone believes they can do it, but they should never give up." He added on, his gaze turning to look at the ceiling. Eyes running over the swirled texture that covered the white paint.
"So you're saying, if I wanted to be a Disney princess, I could be one?" Tyler asked with a pure undertone, his eyes fluttering softly, tickling Josh's neck.
"Bambi, I don't think you should be a Disney princess, because you're better than a Disney princess, but if you wanted to... I believe you could do it, and I'd be there to help you achieve that goal, one hundred percent." Josh spoke softly. His hand now running through the soft tuffs of wavy hair, pink lips pressed against the boy's warm skin, and eyes shut in a blissful silence between the two.
"You know, sometimes I get sad." Tyler mumbled, his hands coming down to pick at the strands on Joshua's sweatpants.
Josh frowned and stopped all his actions to look at the small boy in his arms. "Why? Why do you get sad sometimes?" He asked.
"Because I'm not normal like everybody else. Sometimes when you and cara or your friends are talking, I don't understand what you're talking about, and I get sad because I feel stupid, and then sometimes when I go out in public, everyone always says mean things about the way I dress or how I hold hands with you." Tyler finished up, closing his wide brown eyes, and stopping the motions on the strings of Josh's pants.
Josh scoffed. "Tyler, normal is fucking overrated. Nobody is normal, it's just a made up way to let people know that they don't stand out in crowds and that they fit in with everybody else, but who wants that? We need people like you who aren't scared to be themselves. We need people who aren't afraid to stand out against the minority's of "normal" people, because they're too afraid to do it themselves. And you're not stupid, Bambi. You're innocent which is completely different. The best thing in the world is to be innocent. Hell I wish that my innocence wasn't so fucked up to the point that I knew about sex at the age of eleven." Joshua starts off.
"What's sex?" Tyler asks.
"Nothing your innocent little mind needs to know quite yet. Anyways, people say mean things all the time because they're simply scared, or hiding their true selves and jealous of you. But never let that get you down baby boy, because in my eyes you're perfect. You're nothing mean people say you are, you're you, and I love you." Joshua said, causing the brunet's eyes to water slightly at the admirable words spewing from Josh's mouth.
"Thank you." Tyler whispered.
"For what?" Josh asked sincerely.
"For keeping me happy." Tyler replied.

"You gave him weed!" Cara screeched over FaceTime as she stared wide eyed at Josh who had his arms raised up in mock surrender.
"In my defense, he asked, I supplied. Also, everything was controlled, I was watching him and making sure he could handle it, don't worry." Josh said with a slight chuckle.
"It was weird, but fun." Tyler giggled excitedly, looking at his sister who still looked horrified at the thought of her innocent little brother smoking marijuana.
"Whatever. How has dad and Travis been?" Cara asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Daddy and Travis have been going on a lot of dates, and then staying at Travis' so Joshie has been keeping me company, when daddy's not here for a few hours." He shrugged with a happy smile.
"Do you like Travis, ty?" Cara asked, wanting to make sure that the guy was good enough for her father, and potentially a parent to Tyler. She didn't want another Ruth.
"I like Travis a lot! He's so so so nice, and he helps me play the piano. I know three songs now! Isn't that cool!" He squeals happily, Josh smiling at the small boy while Cara did the same thing.
In that moment, all the love and adoration that was filling up the room became overwhelming. That was until Charlie came walking into the room with a said sigh.
"What's wrong dad?" Cara asked, spotting the man before Tyler could. The brunet and the pink haired boy all turned to face Charlie, Tyler's eyebrows furrowing in confusion as to why his father looks so upset.
"You're mother filed for custody of Tyler, and most times, the court loves to hand over the child to the mother." Charlie sighed, and Tyler's heart stopped.
Out of everything that could be said, he knew what that meant.
Josh felt his heart shatter at the thought of Tyler being taken away from him and thrown into the pit so called his mothers house. How he wouldn't be there to help him if she hurt him.
"Guys don't look so sad! Tyler's sixteen which means he can modify the court, plus your daughter isn't stupid... I have pictures of Tyler's bruises from when she decided to manhandle him, as well as video recordings of her harsh words said to you about Tyler. That's both forms of abuse. There's no way in hell i'm letting Ruth take him away from any of us. When's your court hearing?" Cara asked, her facial features showing nothing but determination.
"Next Monday." He responded.
"I'll see you then." The older Joseph sibling said with a satisfied smile.
