*Luke's POV*

It has been a week since that day at the pier. My fingers keep going to her contact in my phone, just hovering over it then exiting again before I could call her. I've thought about what Beau said but I can't bring myself to do anything, I can't think of anything to do either. I kept imagining Sam's hands all over her, making her smile, laugh, why didn't she just tell me? We could have sorted this out, phoned the police or something. I thought about going to the one place I knew she would be no matter what. The tattoo parlour. But I coudn't bring myself to go. I was socializing again but  nothing felt the same, everywhere I went just felt empty and quiet without her there holding my hand or laughing loudly, I couldn't even bring myself to say her name. "Luke! Come on!" James shouted up the stairs to me pulling me from my thoughts "I'm coming!" We were going to the gym and I was hoping it would kind of clear my head a bit.

*Alex's POV*

This week felt a bit more normal after going back to work, I didn't have to see that much of Sam even though he had taken up residence at my apartment. I have to say that I'm surprised he hasn't tried anything, it's as if he's trying to show me he really has changed which is highly unlikely. Jai has tried to call me a few times but I had to ignore him, I couldn't bring myself to answer him. I have kept going to Luke's contact, hovering over it just wanting to hear his voice again, hear his laugh, feel his touch. Nothing can compare to that. I was sat at the counter doodling on a piece of paper that was sitting there before I knew it I was writing Luke's name in a fancy font almost unreadable, I just couldn't shake him.

The door dinged signalling a customer and in walked Daniel, I wasn't as close to him but we still spoke quite a lot "Please hear me out" He spoke rabidly before I could say anything "I actually have to go to the toilet" I started to get up but he grabbed my hand "Please, let's talk?" I sighed and we sat on the sofa in the waiting room "What is it? I have a job to do" He looked around then raised an eyebrow "Really?" I sighed again impatiently "Ok, ok, first of all, why?" Not this again "Do you care or do you just want to know?" He looked a little confused "Of course I care, Alex. I wouldn't be here if I didn't" I opened my mouth to speak but he got to it first "Luke has only just started to come out of his room, and today we managed to convince him to go out of the actual house to the gym, he needs you Alex. I have never seen him like this, none of us have" I shook my head, the guilt eating away at me again knowing I caused this "I can't do this right now Daniel" I told him choking on my own words, I just then realised I haven't cried after that day, I had to get on with it and I guess I haven't let myself properly cry or think about it all "Please Alex" I sighed deeply "Well..." Just then Hank came in the door and looked at us sitting on the sofa "Don't you have a job to do?" I nodded "He was just leaving" I turned to Daniel who gave me a weird look "I'm not leaving this alone, something has happened. You loved him and you know it, you wouldn't just cut him off like that" He got up and swiftly left the shop, Hank staring after him "What was that about" I shook my head and stood up "Nothing...Hank?" He turned to face me signalling for me to continue "Can I ask you something?" He nodded "Go ahead" I started tapping my fingers on the side of my thigh trying to think of the right words and then looked down "You know what, never mind, it's fine" He searched my features for a second then walked towards me and put his hands on my shoulders "You can close your eyes to things you don't want to see, but you can't close your heart to things you don't want to feel" He paused again "I seen the change he made Alex and now you're back to before so I know he isn't in your life anymore, you were given this life because you are strong enough to live it" And with that he walked into his little office leaving me to think about what he had just told me.

The day was finally over, I walked out into the cooler air zipping up my hoodie and began walking down the darker streets to where my car was parked, I was digging in my backpack for the keys that I really should have looked out before getting there when a man jogged past knocking into me making me fall onto the ground "Thanks for that dickhead!" I shouted after him but he just kept going, I picked up my backpack and everything that fell out of it including my keys and got in my car to drive home.
