Chapter 21

*Luke's POV*

It was Friday, the day we were leaving to go back to Melbourne. I invited Alex to come with us but she refused even when I tried to tell her I would pay for everything she didn't want to ruin our 'family time' and I could see where she was coming from I guess. She drove us to the airport so we didn't have to leave our car in the car park for the next month or two. I watched her as she drove around the streets of LA heading to LAX so I could go away and leave her again after we just patched things up.

"Flight 261 to Sydney is now boarding" The speaker blared through the waiting area and we all got up and grabbed our laptops and carry on bags, I turned to Alex who had been waiting with us "This is it" I told her, I really don't like goodbyes even when I know I will be coming back "It's not for long, you'll be back" She smiled easing the lump in my throat "Luke come on, we'll miss our flight" James shouted as he went through security "I love you" I told her in a whisper, she smiled more and hugged me tight "I love you too" I kissed her one last time before I ran towards the security to catch up with the rest of the boys, with one last wave I couldn't see her anymore. We were on the flight, laptop on, well, my lap and I text Alex quickly before they told us to put them away 

*I'll miss you too*

Almost right away she replied

*I'll miss you too*

I rested my head back and waited for the plane to take off, this was going to be a long trip.

*Alex's POV*

I was back at my apartment now, I threw my keys on the counter before I poured myself a glass of milk. My phone started ringing from my hoodie pocket and I started fumbling for it, I groaned when the caller ID showed up, him again? 

"What now? I already told you I don't do christmas, I'm not coming"

"You're my little sister, I haven't seen you since you left after mum did" He sounded happy but sad at the same time

"I'm sorry ok? I just can't come back Chris, there's too many memories for me there and I'm happy for the first time in years" I told him as I slouched on the sofa running my free hand through my knotted hair.

"I know, but that was in the past, I really want to see you Alex" He was getting desperate now.

"Why? Why now? Why not when I first left, why did it take you two years to contact me, why is this christmas so important to you that I have to come?" I was getting impatient and I was already tired after dropping Luke and the boys off at the airport this morning.

"Because, I-I want you to be here for my wedding" Chris muttered and my breath hitched. Married? To who? Why didn't he tell me sooner?

"Why are you telling me now?"

"I thought maybe you could come here for Christmas and new year and just stay until the wedding" He was still muttering and I was straining to hear him.

"When is the wedding?" I asked fiddling with the hem of my shirt.

"February" 

"February? I can't stay in that wretched place for 2 months! I guess I can come for the wedding but I can't come for the holidays, I'm sorry, I have job. I can't just drop everything" 

"You will come to my wedding? Really?" He sounded surprised, it was only for one day, how bad could it be?

"Yes, just the wedding, then I'm coming back to LA"

"Deal. But at least stay the weekend? So you can meet Jenna and you can bond like sisters" I sighed but agreed

"Only if I can bring a plus one" I could hear him gasp a little.

"And who might that be?" He asked with a smug.

"Luke, you will meet him in February" I told him while I bit my lip smiling.

"Hmmm...Deal, I'll text you the date so you won't forget them. I really appreciate it. Thank you" He sounded grateful and much happier than he was at the start of the phonecall.

"Goodbye Chris" 

"See ya Alex"

I hung up and put my phone on the table. This was going to be either a long few months without Luke or it was going to go really fast towards the trip back home.

Short I know but it's more of a filler, I will update tomorrow again.
