Chapter 8

Luke's POV

My head was pounding and my mouth had a horrible taste that I was all too familiar with, I turned over to see a pair of green eyes looking back at me but they weren't sparkling like usual, and there was bags under them. "You okay?" I asked her hoping the answer was yes "I think I should be asking you that" I laughed slightly and asked her again "You sure?" She nodded "Just tired, didn't really sleep last night" I got up out of the bed and started towards the door "Where are you going?" Alex's small, sleepy voice called after me, I turned back round and almost tripped over a bowl "Oh yeah, I put that there for you last night, even though you missed half the time" She yawned and rubbed her eyes. She was helping me all last night? Well now I felt bad "I'm just going to go brush my teeth and change in to more comfortable clothes" She nodded and burried her face into my pillow, pulling the duvet right up to cuddle into. Once I had the taste of minty toothpaste in my mouth I went back to the bedroom, I went in to hear light snores coming from the bed. Alex had fallen asleep, I knocked something over but she didn't even stir so I just left the room and went to see what damage the party had left.

Jai was lying on the sofa cuddling another bowl, Beau was outside on one of the benches, James was on the floor near Jai and god knows where Skip was. I went round and started to pick up the cups and streamers and whatever else was lying around. I took some Paracetamol for my head and gave up collecting the rubbish and lay down on the other sofa, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep once again. This is what alcohol does kids.

Alex's POV

The time on the clock read 3pm no way have I been asleep for that long, Luke had gotten up about 9 and then I must have fallen asleep because I can't really remember much. I got up and changed quickly into blue denim shorts and vest top, I put on my mascara and eyeliner and put my hair into a side fishtail braid. I got to the bottom of the stairs and it was silent. They couldn't all still be sleeping. Right enough, I walked into the living room and they were all passed out, including Luke. I shook my head and started cleaning up the mess, I was doing this for about 15 minutes before I heard feet slapping on the concrete floor of the kitchen, I turned to look over my shoulder and seen a very bad looking Jai walking over to me "Did you give me this bowl?" He asked as he sat the bowl on the side "Yes, I and nobody else would have wanted to clean that up and don't just put it there, empty it" He put his hands up in surrender and got the bowl, I laughed at his childness and kept cleaning up "Thanks for the bowl" He made me jump when I didn't hear him coming back in "You look like shit" I rubbed my hand over his hair as I walked past him going to sit on the sofa grabbing the remote for the tele before Jai came and snatched it off of me "Hey" I tried to grab it back off of him but he reached back so I couldn't reach it "You can't put it on, everybody else is still asleep" "So, they have to wake up eventually" Jai narrowed his eyes "But they all probably have a hangover, you and I can hold our drink without hangovers, we just look a little rough in the mornings. They can't" He told me in a 'duh' tone I folded my arms across my chest and leaned back "Well what am I going to do then? I've cleaned up for you all" I had been meaning to go shopping so that what I was going to do. I got up and grabbed my car keys and phone off the table "Where are you going?" Jai called to me when I reached the living room door "I got me some shopping to do" Before I could take another step, Jai had come running past snatching the keys out of my hand "Hey!" I shout-whispered as he opened the front door "I'm driving" Well I guess he was coming too then.

We got to the shopping centre and made our from the car park to the elevators. We got in one and a group of girls came in after us "Oh my god! JAI" They all screamed but it didn't seem to bother Jai, I guessed they were fans. They asked for photos and follows while we were in the elevator "Wait, you're Alex, Luke's girlfriend! You're so pretty, and lucky!" I felt myself smiling against my will "Thank you, it's sweet of you to say" Jai walked out of the elevator and I followed him before the girls stopped me "Can we have a picture, before you go?" I looked at them a bit confused but nodded, I stood between them as Jai took the picture and they thanked us and we walked in to the centre to start shopping "That was weird" I chuckled thinking over the events from 2 minutes ago "Yea, it's a bit weird for us still too but without them we wouldn't be here" I thought about how they knew who I even was but then I realised the amount of picture Luke has probably taken of me doing some weird things without me noticing and put them on Twitter or something, there was one of us together on Halloween before Skip's birthday he must have put up. "At least they like you" I chuckled again and nodded. I guess that was a plus. I made my way to Topshop and Jai came with me seeing as there is a Topman in the same shop, I looked through the racks and wound up with a basket of stuff. I got some jeans because I really needed some for this coming Winter, a couple knitted jumpers and a pair of boots. It was safe to say I spent a lot of money in that shop.

As I walked out the shop I bumped in to a hard a body "Shit, sorry" I looked up to see Sam. Why is it that everywhere I go he seems to turn up. I rolled my eyes and walked past him but he just followed me and I wasn't really wanting to cause a scene in the middle of the shopping centre so I tried to stop myself from blowing up. "Look, I'm sorry for coming to that party last night I just had to see you" I had to keep my head down, I couldn't look at him and the damage Luke did to his face. "Are you serious? You don't care about me! You never have!" I whisper shouted trying to keep my voice low, I made the mistake of looking at him. He had a cut eyebrow and marks on his cheek, and a faint bruise on the other. He had sunglasses on so he might have had a black eye. "I did Alex and I still do" I walked faster to try and get away from him "Just go away, why can't you leave me alone? I'm happy for once" He grabbed my arm to stop me from walking away "Don't lie to yourself. You loved me once and I know deep down that feeling is still there and I will do everything I can to bring it back out" His face was inches from mine and I could almost taste his minty breath, the breath I once longed for now meant nothing to me. "Hey, Alex" I heard Jai calling me and the feet of his shoes jogging over, Sam swiftly took off in the opposite direction before Jai could get to me "Was that Sam?" His voice was full of anger and concern I looked back over my shoulder but the figure that once held me close had vanished in to a sea of people "No, just some weirdo that thought I was someone else" I forced out a smile and began walking with Jai again "You sure you're ok?" I nodded "Yes, now leave it" He nodded and spoke again "Luke text me asking where we were and he told me to watch you so I am" I rolled my eyes and looked down at the ground as I walked "I don't need looking after, you boys and your attempts to keep the girl safe doesn't always work and then if something does happen then you blame yourself because you think it's up to you to protect them" He stopped and grabbed my arms "It is up to us to protect you whether you like it or not" He paused and searched my eyes for something but continued "We look out for the ones we love and if we can't do that then what are we good for" He let go of my arms and I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him, the bag banging off his back a little "Thank you" I whispered then realised we must have looked like a couple of loonies so I let him go and we walked back towards the car.

"I wanted to go shopping" Luke had called me as I was watching re-runs of Fresh Prince "Well you can come next time" I assured him hoping that the next time wouldn't be too soon "Promise?" I giggled at his childish and noded but then realised he couldn't see me "I promise" We talked for a little while, only because Luke refused to hang up the phone "I'm going to make pizza now, bye" I quickly ended our call and put my phone on the table my phone lighting up immediately

That boy is something else, I made my pizza and began eating it before there was a knock at the door, when I opened the door there were two big, muscly men standing before me "Alex?" I have to admit. Now I was scared "Who's asking?" I started shaking scared of the response but they didn't respond. One of the men slapped me hard across the face causing me to fall back and they both came in, locking the door behind them. Shit. Now I wish I had listened to Luke. "What do you want?" I felt tears welling up but I couldn't let them fall "We have a message for you" He walked forward and pushed myself back with my feet, trying to get as much distance as possible but before I made it far enough Asshole number 2 grabbed my ahir and pulled me up, I tried not to scream but I did involuntary causing him to through me back down to the ground face first before kicking my side "You would beat a girl  to give her a message?" I gripped my side where he had kicked me and groaned in pain "Oh yeah, the message. Our little mate Sam said that you'll find your feelings and that he'll get them out of you one way or another" I rolled onto my back as the asshole kicked my other side "So he sent you to beat a girl, that doesn't sound like love!" I shouted at him inbetween coughs "Oh no sweetie, he told us to do much worse but you see we don't feel like it today, maybe we'll come back for another surprise visit" He stood on my leg hard enough for a scream to escape but not enough to break it, thank god. As they went to leave I pulled myself up off the ground hunched over and clutching my stomach I shouted at him "You disgust me!" I quickly grabbed the kitchen counter that was now next to me to stop me falling over, I thought he was going to keep walking but instead he stalked towards me and clutched my face between his hands "It's a job sweetie but don't worry we'll be back" He punched me once and hard enough to make me fall to the floor once again before taking off out the door with his sidekick. This has gotten way out of hand. I left home for a reason and now my past that I tried so hard to forget has followed me. I lay on the floor with the tears flooding out of my eyes and I couldn't stop them. The room started spinning and my eyelids grew heavy before everything went black.
