We patiently sat in the waiting room, waiting for Maggie to come introduce herself and come get me. I was extremely nervous for today for many reasons. Talking about Victor was hard for me on many levels. Even to my parents it was hard so how was I supposed to talk to a complete stranger about him?

I started shaking my foot, up and down in a repeated quick motion, trying to kick my nerves out of me. I squeezed my palms together and placed them in my lap to try and stop them from shaking.

My mum placed her hand on my knee, pushing it down, forcing my leg motions to stop. I looked up and her and gave her a slanted smile.

"Don't be nervous" she said. I nodded and gave up on my posture and slouched in my chair.

I began to pick at my black nail polish in impatience. Where the hell was she? Why was this taking so long? Does she not want to see me anymore? Did she cancel and not tell us? What time was it? Was she running late or am I just extremely anxious?

My patience is like a hard boiled egg. Small, and seems hard shelled and sturdy, but once it's put to the test, it cracks.

I heard high heels begin to click on the hardwood floor, making me think it was Maggie. They walked in a rhythmic beat, and with each step the sound inched closer, my heart raced faster.

A petite brunette lady approached my mum and I. She was tan, with long wavy hair. She had a pearly white, bright smile plastered on her face and she was absolutely beautiful.

"Hi, I'm Maggie, you must be Willow and Dianne" she said holding her hand out. I interlocked our hands and shook. Even her hands were soft.

"Hi" I smiled. She then shook my mums hand, and they exchanged a greeting.

"Ready to head back honey?" She asked. I nodded, and stood from my seat. "Follow me" she said. Her heels clicked and clanked along the floor again, while my simple white, beaten up converse squeaked a little. "My office is just down the hall" she said.

We walked through the door and her office was neat and clean. It had navy blue carpets and light blue paint. The shelves looked freshly dusted and she had pictures of her, Rob and their daughter aligned on the desk for decoration.

"Have a seat here" she said pointing me to a chair. I sat in it and she sat behind her desk, pulling out a blank notepad and a pen. "Tell me about yourself" she started.

"Well" I gulped. "I'm 19 years old, I like dogs... umm my favorite snacks are cheez-its and kettle corn.." I said. She raised her eyebrows at my sudden stop in speech.

"Is that it?" She laughed.

"There's not much to me" I shrugged.

"What about your friends and family?" She asked.

"I live with my parents and a dog named Gracie. My best friends name is Cassie and she's basically like my sister" I said.

"What about Michael?" She asked.

"Michael lives with me too, in our spare room. Don't tell my parents but Michael is my boyfriend" I said trying to fight my grin at the sentence.

"Ooh, a secret relationship" she laughed. I smiled and she placed her pen down on her notepad and folded her hands together. Great. Here we go. "So, tell me about Victor" she started.

And there was the bomb shell.

"What do you want to know about him?" I asked.

"Now, don't get mad at him, but Rob did tell me about the rape, it's just something I have to know so I can properly help you" she said. "But may I just say, I think you should tell your parents honey" she added.

"I can't, how can I look them in the eyes and tell them that their baby was raped?" I said. "He's dead now so why should it matter? There's no one to press charges on now. He's gone" I said.

"Willow, relax please" she said. I didn't even notice my slight raise in voice and the tension that thickened my tone at her. But I had to stick up for myself.

"No! I'm not gonna sit here and take this! You can't tell me what to do!" I said.

"I'm not forcing you to tell them. I'm just saying, it can help you" she said.

"I'm sorry. I have to go" I said standing up and opening the door.

"Willow, please sit down" she said standing from her seat. I ignored her and walked back down the hall. I didn't even acknowledge my mother, and just walked out the door and into the car, sitting there. Of course my mum didn't even wait for Maggie to come to the waiting room, she just rushed to my side, thankfully.

"Hey baby, what's wrong?" She asked opening the car door.

"I wanna go home" I said, my voice cracking from fighting back tears.

"Alright, whatever you say honey" she said getting in, buckling up and putting the key in the ignition. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked.

"Not really" I said.

"That's fine by me. But you have to let me get you a slushee" she smirked backing out of the parking lot. I smiled at her offer and flipped my head over to her direction.

"Sounds good" I said.
