CHAPTER 5: Getting To Know You

Ella's p.o.v:
We weren't really going to get ice cream originally.. truth is I chickened out with Grayson. I'm 18 years old and the only relationship I've been in ended badly mid last summer. Everybody knew of the relationship back in my hometown, and gabby was the only one left by my side when shit went down. People are way better now, but there are still those a few that have an issue. It's winter now in Australia, making it Summer here in LA which is nice. Anyway, Grayson was really sweet and I definitely had feelings for him, they way he looked at me made my heart practically explode and his touch was electrifying. I wanted to kiss him too, but something inside me was scared. I wish I wasn't this way, I wish I could just go worry free. Grayson probably doesn't want me anyway he's probably just looking for a summer fl--
"Hey." I was interrupted by gabby slinging her arm around my shoulder
"you okay Ell?"
"What do you mean? We're in fucking LA! I'm stoked!" I half lied, what I said was true, only I felt anxious, and I could tell Gabby knew.
"Let loose, I saw you and Grayson and I know what's got you stressin'. You're okay, nice and slow, we're all friends." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in and nodded my head. "Love ya gab"
"I know. Now let's go!!" Gabby said running back up to the boys pulling me behind.

Grayson's p.o.v:
"I saw you with Grayson and I know what's got you stressin'" I heard gabby say to Ella, her accent sounding kind of thick with those words. What was worrying ella? Was I reading her all wrong? Did she not want me like I wanted her? Did I make a stupid mistake trying to kiss her.. I just felt right and she leant in too. I wanted to know what had her worried, I wanted her to trust and talk to me, I needed her to. I could always tell there was something behind that cocky grin and constant laughter. Her eyes were bright and excited, but there was hurt and a nervousness that she was trying to hide... I decided to leave it for now but I do want to know what happened to my ella.

Ella's p.o.v:
We were all laughing and joking when we came up to the ice cream parlour. We all walked in and Grayson ordered 4 cookies and cream cones (turns out we all loved the same flavour) we got our ice cream and walked out, I offered him money for mine and gabby's but he declined. The parlour was right by the beach so we decided to walk along the sand. Mid way through conversation about favourite bands and songs a flash caught my eye.
"What was that?" I asked.
"No idea" Gabby said shrugging, Ethan and Grayson looked at each other with a worried expression.
"what's wrong" I said nudging him, a pout on my face, Grayson was about to say something when Ethan cut him off,
"No clue, but we should get going now.. Hey, you wanna come hang at our place?" Ethan said quickly. We nodded and the boys picked up their pace, eyes darting around nervously. What the hell was up with these two? It was probably just some tourists taking a picture of the beach right before sunset. Whatever.

Ethan's p.o.v:
The girls didn't seem to know who were were, and we liked that, we knew they were genuine. We rushed back to the apartment complex hoping to god it wasn't a photographer ready to make a big scene about me and Gray with these girls. I really didn't want that to happen, for them or for us. I knew a lot of the fans would be angry and if they found out who the girls were. They would most likely confront them on social media, which would make Gray and I feel really guilty. Tonight was meant to be the night I asked gabby out with me to a party that's on in a few weeks as like a date sort of, but I talked to Grayson and we decided to both ask soon to make it as casual as possible given the new possible circumstances. We all got into the apartment and acted like nothing was wrong hoping it would all blow over and that we were just paranoid. "Wanna play xbox?" Grayson said with a childish smile. We all agreed and decided to play GTA whilst taking turns sharing fun little facts about ourselves, it was a good night and I couldn't help but give Gabby my full attention when she spoke.

Gabby's p.o.v:
We came back to the twins place and played Xbox. I thought it was going to be lame at first but Ella and I both had a really great time.
"I have a brother, my mum and dad, 3 cats and a dog" Ella said cheerily after Grayson asked her about her family. Ella's parents were always busy and her brother was rarely home, but she was a family girl and adored them all nonetheless.
"What about you gab?" Grayson smiled.
"Well, mum and dad, and a brother and sister and two dogs."
"We have a parrot back at our parents place" Ethan gushes and I laugh and lean onto him as I cooed "that's so cute! What's his name?" I felt goosebumps rise on Ethan's arm that I leaned on, and it was the cutest thing.
"G-Gizmo" he stuttered, clearly nervous and distracted. I saw Ella and Grayson smirk but they weren't so close. Ella was being frigid and I know I was a nervous wreck and not much better, but she was scared to fall for someone, it wasn't just crush nerves. It pissed me off that someone as confident and loving as Ella could be thrown around so much. I knew she was worried to have anything with Grayson because of Tate, her ex, from back home. He really messed it up, and if i didn't make a promise to Ella, I would have beat his ass big time. He knew how sensitive she is, and he ran all over her.
"You good." Ethan asked gently nudging me, snapping me out of my mental rant.
"Oh yeah, I've had so much fun"
"Same" they all said then looking at each other and laughing
"We should go though, it's almost 1:00am" Ella said her eyes widening. The little weakling. Honestly unless we were partying she was happy to pass out by 11.
"Wow, how time flies" Ethan said with a wink, he was obviously back to being smooth.
"See ya later, we'll text you." I said quickly giving Ethan a kiss on the cheek, all their eyes went wide and Ethan's cheeks flushed a deep red. But I kept walking to the door.
"'Night boys!" Ella called skipping along side me. She went to say something when I put my hand up not looking at her
"Don't even Ella." I said with a dead serious face. She just giggled. What did I just do? Shit. There was no way Ella was gonna let this go.

Ella's p.o.v:
There's no way that just happened. I guess Gabby isn't going for the slow and steady approach, but then again, by the looks of it Ethan didn't seem to mind. We keep walking down the hall towards our apartment and I turn to Gabby about to mention the kiss on the cheek when she puts up her hand to silence me. "Don't even Ella" she says seriously. I can tell even she's astonished at what she did, but trust me, I wasn't letting her out of this one easy.

Grayson's p.o.v:
I didn't get a good night kiss from Ella, that kinda sucks. But I'm happy for Ethan, and really it's all good, plus, I like a bit of a chase.

Ethan's p.o.v:
Okay, what the actual fuck just happened, we went from rambling on about the time to gabby kissing me on the cheek as she left. It was nothing big, just a kiss on the cheek, but it was incredible, it felt so real. I felt my cheeks burn as she walked away and when she left I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding in. When we closed the door I turned to Grayson,
"Holy shit bro."
"Those girls have got us. Majorly." Grayson said with a sigh and a chuckle. I chuckled along with him, I knew he had a thing for Ella from the get go, but deep down I knew it would mean trouble.
