So, how was sleeping with Scott last night?"
I made a face and looked at her. "Ew. No. Please don't say it like that." She just laughed, but I went on.
"Apparently he got back after I woke up. I woke up first though, and I made sure to use all the hot water. So I think I got him pretty good." The last part was sarcasm, if it was that much of a mystery. "How's your roommate?"
Kirstin smiled. "She seems pretty nice, I guess. But she's like you.""And that isn't a good thing?"
"She has way too many clothes and takes forever in the shower."
I rolled my eyes and ran into her playfully, and she laughs and does the same. Soon we part for our first period classes. I keep a confident stance, determined to make a good impression. I was wearing a velvety purple shirt and high waisted black pants; hopefully it looked as good as I thought it did. I walked into the classroom.
Ok. So Scott was in my first period English class. That's fine. That's great actually. It's what I hoped for. (a/n if u can't tell that's sarcasm rip) I took a seat near the middle on the side, near a charger. Scott was in the back of the room with two other guys. I could almost feel them talking about me, but I tried my best to ignore it.
Kirstie? Kirstie? Nope. No Kirstie.
A boy with blonde hair was sitting next to me, on his phone. He tapped me on the shoulder suddenly, and I looked over.
"Hey, can you plug my phone in? Thanks!" He flashed a smile. His hair was way lighter than Scott's, and he was definitely much shorter. Stop comparing people to that idiot!
"Of course." I winked and took the cords he was pushing towards me. I heard him laugh. Aw, it was cute.
"I'm Tyler."
"I'm Mitch."
Me and Tyler continued to talk before the bell rang. He was here for another portion of the School. It was technically a music school, but they had other classes too, so you could technically go here not for music if you had the money. His dad worked here so he got in easily.
Soon the bell did ring, and the teacher started to explain the class. She handed out a syllabus. No late homework, damn. I was really good at procrastinating."We're going to start a project as our first thing in this class. Now don't get too scared, it doesn't have much work at all. I just want to pair you up and see how well you guys work together and how much you know."
The project was less of a project and more of homework that we had to do with their people. Which I wasn't complaining about, of course. We had to take a fake essay she'd written and find all the mistakes. It was simple.
"Now, I'll be pairing you up, so we aren't working with our close friends." She flashed a smile and started to pair people up as they groaned. I picked up my phone and slyly tried to check it.
"Scott Hoying, with, hmm.. Mitch?" I wasn't really paying attention, so it didn't register with me fully. I casually said "Thank you, but i'd rather die." And kept texting.
The class started to laugh as Ms. Cobb looked at me like I was an alien. She shook her head. "Ok then... Tyler. You two can work together." She was probably just pairing up because she didn't want me to be difficult anymore, but it worked with me. I thought about what i'd done and snickered to myself, keeping a confident face and turning to look at Scott. He wasn't glaring at me, but he was giving me a very cold look. I blew him a kiss.
I only had Scott in one more class, choir. But i'd expected that at least; we were in choir together in middle school. What else would he be here for? But i had Kirstie in that class, and all we really did on the first day was sit around. I had Kirstie in two more of my classes, thank god.
At lunch she took me to a place in the courtyard under a big tree, and introduced me to her friends, Kevin and Nicole. Kevin was the best beatboxer that I've ever met, and Nicole was amazing at makeup. She'd gotten into the academy to help with makeup for plays and performances. I didn't even know that was a thing, but it was so cool. The day went by pretty fast, and aside from the morning incident, it went pretty well.
"You did? Really?!"
I smirked as I told Kirstie about this morning.
"Yep." He looked so mad, but I just blew him a kiss. I'm so sweet."
She ran into me playfully and laughed. "Damn Mitch, you're hardcore. He won't stand a chance against you."
"She isn't even in my league, sweetie."
She hung her mouth open jokingly and pretending to be shocked. By "she isn't even in my league" I meant Scott, of course, but it was something I did jokingly.
My phone buzzed, and I looked downtyler ♡: meet @ ur dorm and work on the project? roommate is busy
mitch: yea, come over in like 20 mins. i need to get my roommate out
tyler ♡: who?
mitch: who do you think
tyler ♡: NO
I laughed and put away my phone. "I've gotta go kick Scott out of my room, can we talk later?" She nodded and kissed my cheek, running off. I entered my dorm room and soon enough, Scott was at his desk. I left the door open and coughed. He looked up.
"Ahem."
"What." He looked up.
"I need you to leave. Project work, you know." I leaned against the doorframe.
"Why can't you work with me in here? I'm busy. Use his room."
"I'm gonna roll that chair out of this room myself if you don't leave."
He put his hands up in fake defeat and chucked. I glared and him and stormed over, grabbing the back of his rolling chair and pulling back. Damn, this was harder than I'd thought. I kept pulling back though, and he just sat there.
"Wait. Roll me back. I need my phone." I grabbed his phone and threw it at him. He laughed and stood up, walking out the door. I slumped down on the bed and let my face fall into my pillow. He was fucking impossible.
I hated how he could do that thing. That whole dumb acting like we're friends thing, expect with his snarky attitude behind it. It made me so mad, and I'd just showed him that firsthand.
A little bit later, there was a knock on the door, so I ran up to get it. It was Tyler.
I smiled. "Hey!" He walked in and flashed me a smile back. "Hey boo."
It was only my first day of class, but some things already seemed to be working out pretty well. We sat down and got out out packets. He also got a pack of pencils and I highlighter, and I giggled a little bit at how prepared he was. He pretended to be offended.
It didn't take that long to do the actual work, but we talked so much it was probably taking way longer than it should've. Soon, Tyler casually mentioned an ex, and said he.
"Wait, you're gay?"
"Yeah." He flashed another smile. That was really the best way to put it.
I sighed a little in relief. For a secret, I sure was open about it. "Me too. Just please don't tell anyone" I rushed the last part. He promised me that he wouldn't.
Tyler talked about how accepting this school was, and I got more relaxed about it the more he talked. Maybe I could get a cute boyfriend that would make Scott jealous.
Make Scott jealous? Of what? That I have a relationship of course. I sighed. I just couldn't get him out of my head.
Then, I heard the door open. Speak of the devil, he arrives.
