"I mean, it could be bigger."

My mom rolled her eyes as I sarcastically commented on the building were were driving up to. It was huge, with several others surrounding it, amount various courtyards. She stopped near the entrance, and I looked at her with a sad smile.

"I'll miss you, Mitch." She said and ruffled my hair. I gave her a kiss on the cheek, and said "I'll miss you too." as I looked in the mirror to fix his my. She hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. "Now get out." She joked. I laughed and hopped out of the car, walking around to the trunk to get my stuff. Yelling a goodbye, I watched as she did the same and drove away. I made my way to to on one side of the colossal building, where a long, tall structure was. Assuming that it was the dorms, I made his way to to them.

The lobby was crowded with people talking in groups, laughing casually. I  gulped and tried to look as cool as I could, but he had to admit that he was nervous. Everyone here seemed to be good friends, and I didn't know anyo-

"Mitch!!"

I only had a second to turn around before the girl hugged him tightly. Her long hair and high waisted shorts confused me. Who was this? When she pulled back though, I gasped.

"Kirstie?!"

Kirsten Maladonado was my best friend from kindergarden to seventh grade, when she moved away. They kept in touch online, but hadn't found the time in a while. I was so shocked to see her here, though.

What a coincidence!

I hugged her again, longer this time. They hadn't seen each other in person for so long, but as soon as they pulled away, their conversation went as smooth as ever.

"I'm so happy to see you!"

"What are you here for?"

"Were you alone too?"

"How long have you been here?"

The questions they threw at each other were endless. Apparently, Kirstie had been here since last year. I silently thanked god that someone could show him around. "You look as cute as ever." She grinned and tugged on my long black sweatshirt. It had a white design on it and he had black pants, good shoes, and my hair done nice, of course. My face lit up. "So do you, babe!" I pushed her playfully and she laughed, taking my hand. "Come on. I'll show you to your room!"

She guided me around the dorms and even insisted on carrying one of my bags. Kirstie was just too sweet. I would definitely repay her later.  A snack maybe?

"Wanna get coffee soon? My treat."

She smiled. "Of course! We need to catch up so much!" She kissed me on the cheek and I stuck my tongue out at her.

Unlocking my dorm, I got a bit nervous. I hadn't even thought about it recently, I'd been so caught up in everything else. What about my roomate? Luckily, they weren't here yet, so I could have more time to panic. The two began to unpack as they continued to talk.

"Does anyone else we know go here?"

Her face seemed to go pale, but she gave me a smile. "I don't think so!"

I leaned on the dresser and gave her a look. She sighed.

"Please please please please promise me that you won't let this ruin your time here, but-"
