Riley held the pack of ice against her eye while Lucas wrapped a bandage around her other hand. "Worst party ever" Riley groaned. Lucas looked up and tried to find some emotion in Riley's eyes but all he saw was tiredness. "I can't believe I fought Missy!" Riley said. "I mean I was able to control myself my entire school career and at the very last moment I lose myself!" Riley said dissapointed. "I'm such a mess" she said almost crying. Lucas kissed the hand wrapped in bandage before looking up into Riley's sad eyes. "You were protective. Thank you" he said. Riley smiled and Lucas scooted closer to wrap his arms around her. She flinched a little but soon relaxes in his embrace. "I'm so sorry I ruined your party" she said. "Eh, dad coming home early would've ruined it anyway" Lucas said lifting his shoulders. "He's probably gonna hate me even more now, if that's even possible" Lucas ran his hand up and down her back to comfort Riley. He also intertwined her not bruised hand with his. "He's mad at both of us but mostly me" Lucas said. Riley shook her head. "He should only be mad at me, I'm the one who started it" Riley took the blame on her. No matter how much she hated Missy. "Missy shouldn't have flirted with me, trying to get in bed with me ....again" he said putting emphasis on the 'again'. "She went to far, and I think she felt that" Riley chuckled at his joke but soon regretted it when she felt a stinging pain in her cheek. "Wow she really got you hard there didn't she?" Lucas asked stroking Riley's bruised cheek. "I'll be fine" Riley saw before yawning. She burried her head in the croack of Lucas his neck and Lucas laid them down together. After cuddling for a while he felt her breathing becoming steadier and he tried to get out of the embrace as subtle as possible. Once he got out, he covered Riley with his cheets and walked over to his door. "Sweet dreams" he whispered before turning off the lights and closing the door behind him.He walked down the stairs trying not to fall over the cups that were scattered all over the house. They really made it a wild party that had an abrupt stop. He saw his sister passed out on the couch, snoring like never before. Alcohol, brings out the worst in ya. He shook his head and shoved some cups aside so he could walk to the kitchen. He father was waiting for him. Lucas walked inside the bright kitchen, head down and eyes focused not to trip. His father taped his fingernail against the countertop. "Got your girlfriend cleaned up?" He asked groggily. "Yeah...she's sleeping" Lucas said. "You're letting her stay?" Harold asked. "Mom said she could" Lucas shook his shoulders. "That girl is not good for you" Lucas his dad said angry. "Riley is good for me. She had never bin in a fight before, she lost her temper before Missy couldn't contain herself" Lucas snapped. "Your girlfriend was the one that couldn't contain herself. You really want that as your girlfriend?" Harold asked. "I love her dad! I'm extremely proud of her. And yes not for this. Maybe it would've bin best if she didn't start a fight but that doesn't matter. She's the most amazing girl I know. She's kind sweet, Has one of the best grades of the school, helps people in need, she's going to Yale" Harold scoffed and Shook his head. "She's started a fight with Mr. Bradfords daughter! He's an important client Lucas! What if he finds out your girlfriend beat up his daughter" Harold threw his arms up. "That's your problem, I'm glad my girls fine" Lucas said. "My problem? Soon it's gonna be your problem. I'm telling you son: those four years of collage are gone be over befor you now it. Once you're back from collage you're taking over the company and all my problems will be your problems. And who are you gonna call for help? me." Lucas looked down. "And I think if you're still dating her by then....your problems will only be bigger" Lucas shook his head. "Not a reason to leave her." Lucas mumbled. Harold rolled his eyes. "You said it" he chucked down the last bit of his whisky. "I'm going to bed" Harold said groggily. He took the newspaper and walked out of the kitchen. Lucas sighed and walked out on the other side. When he did ,he bumbed into Riley.
"Did you just?" Lucas saw how watery her eyes where. She didn't hear it all. "Lucas I don't want to get you in trouble" Riley said. Lucas shook his head. "You're not" Lucas took her hands and she looked at them. "Maybe your dad's right" Lucas shook his head rapidly trying to convince her she's wrong. "No! No Riley. Please don't say that" Lucas pleaded. Riley took a deep breath and pulled her hands out of his. "One day we are gonna take over the company, we'll form a problem. And I don't want that for you. I also don't want to be the cause of a family feud." Riley said while tears ran down her face. Lucas suddenly realized what she was doing. "No Riley. No please don't" he begged also get teary eyed. "Lucas I....I love you so , so much. And I am hating myself so much right now" she said looking down and shaking her head. "I don't want to give you problems Lucas. And most of all I don't want to be your problem" Riley sobbed. "Riley you are everything to me but my problem" Lucas took her face in between her hands. "I'm leaving to Conneticut tonight" Lucas cocked his eyebrow. "Already?" Riley nodded. "It's for the best" she stroke her hand over his cheek that was wet from a few tears rolling down. "I love you Lucas, and I'm sorry" she said. "But this is all coming toughest at once and I don't want to get you in trouble" Lucas shook his head not believing it and burried his head in her chest. She tried to shush and comfort him. "I'm sorry Lucas" she sobbed herself. "If we're ment to be well come back to each other" Riley said. She pulled away and planted a soft kiss on his lips. "I love you" she whispered. She looked in his eyes one more time before she turned away, taking her keys and phone, and left out the door. Lucas felt everything hurt inside. It felt like his heart was ripped out his chest and he slumped to the couch where he saw that Emily was awake. She sat up and held her little brother close. "I'm sorry" she muttered. Lucas shook his head. "What do I do?" He asked. "You....try to forget. But it will be hard." Lucas sobbed. "I love her so much" Emily nodded knowing. "It'll be ok" she comforted him.
Riley ran outside and balled her eyes out. It was the hardest thing she ever did but it was for Lucas. She did it for him. So he won't get in trouble, not with his family, his company, his father. While the tears kept running down her face she took her phone and dialed Maya's number. It rang a few times before Maya answered.
Hello? A sleepy voice was heard on the other side.
Can you please come pick me up? Riley asked sobbing again.
I'll be right there Maya answered immediately when she heard Riley's sad voice.Minutes later Maya arrived and Riley fell into her best friends arms. "Honey what happened?" Maya asked. "I hate myself" Riley cried into Maya's chest. Maya decided to ask later. She decided that for now, all Riley needed was a shoulder to cry on.
A/N: please don't hate me. Not only for waiting this long to update but for breaking them up. I'll try to update sooner but I've got a busy week ahead of me.
