Riley slowly opened her eyes and immdiately saw the beautiful view out of her penthouse window. The sun was rising over the city. Riley blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the sunshine. She felt the strong arm wrap tighter around her and she smiled. she slowly looked over her shoulder to see her handsome fiancé next to her still sound asleep. She carefully pulled herself from under his grasp and and hit the covers off her. She sat on the edge of the kingsize bed and enjoyed the view for a few seconds. Before she stood up and looked at Lucas once more. Then she walked accros the room towards the bathroom. She turned on the lights and looked at herself in the big mirror. Her hair was a mess like always. She pushed a strand away and took a deep breath. Today was a big day. A day a lot would be anounced. A new chapter in her life. One with Lucas in it. She took her engagement ring out of the box and turned it on. She smiled and started getting ready.
"Goodmorning" Lucas his strong arms wrap around Riley's waist and he kisses her cheek. Riley smiles surprised and hold her hand in front of her mouth that was still full of the breakfast she just tooka bite of. SHe quickly swallows it. "Hey, took you long enough to get out of bed." Riley said. Lucas chuckled and poured himself a cup of coffee. "You know i love to sleep long" Riley nodded and stood up. "Yes i do, but not on days like this" She took an apple from the basket behind Lucas and pecked his lips during the proces. He smiled through the kiss and she pulled away again. "Are you nervous?" Lucas asked. Riley sighed. "A little. It's gonna chance everything" Lucas nodded and sat down in front of her. "We've worked very hard on this for the past few months. Today's the day. This is our goal" Riley smiled at the encouraging words Lucas just said. "I know." Luca grasped for her hand and caressed his thumb over it. "Don't stress out ok? It's bad for you" Riley nodded. "I'm not, It's just a lot. I mean the wedding coming up, this huge press conference at the convention today. And not to mention the other big news" Lucas chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, a lot of changes. But hey..." Riley looked up when he called at her. "You and me right?" Riley smiled wide and nodded. "Always" She leaned over the table to peck his lips once more.
"Ok everyone! gather around!" Riley called her staff together with the clipboard in her hand. Everyone gathered around her. "This year's convention will be different then others. You all know what to do. Now these are your new t-shirts. I hope you'll all enjoy this convention. The schedule for breaks is up behind the booth, and you'll be able to contact me with the number you received this morning" Riley explained. "Thank you for helping today and let's do this. Doors open in ten minutes" Riley finished before stepping off the table and checking 'briefing' off her to-do list. She smiled satisfied and turned around only to bumb into her best friend. "Peaches!" Riley yelled out exited. "Hey Riles, need another helper?" Maya asked. Riley chuckled and hugged her best friend. "No way! your holiday isn't over until two weeks" Riley said shaking her head. Maya chuckled. "where's my favorite little boy?" Riley asked looking around. "Right here" Josh walked around the corner, with his son at his hand. "Oh hi little Asher" Riley said with her baby voice. the 1 and a half year old baby reached up it's small hand towards Riley. Josh picked him up and handed Asher to Riley. "Hi Ashy, hi there" Riley tockled his tummy and made some playful faces. Maya and Josh watched Riley interact with their son. "So where's Lucas?" Maya asked. "Oh he should be around" Riley waved it off without even looking up from the kid in her arms. "Actually I'm right here, Hey guys" Lucas came from behind the booth with a big smile plastered on his face. Maya and Josh greeted him and Lucas went standing next to Riley. "Look at how cute he is" Riley cooed. Lucas chuckled and caressed Asher's cheek.
"Speaking of baby's" Maya glared at Riley, while Lucas took Asher from Riley. "Don't look at me like that, i know that not telling my parents yet isn't nice but you know how long it took for my dad to get used to the idea of us" Riley said gesturing between her and lucas. "Riles, your dad loves you two. and he'll find out anyway when you reveal all this" Maya said spreaidng her arms around the booth. Riley nodded and Lucas interacting with little Asher. "Doors are now opened" The voice beamed through the halls, followed by cheering from the entrance. Riley looked at Maya. "Maybe later" She patted Lucas his shoulder so he'd join her by the booth. He handed Asher back to Josh and followed Riley.
"Welcome everyone to the anual technology convention" The presentor said through the microphone, earing some cheers from the audience. "Now the two most popular companies on this convention used to go against each other in the biggest technology debate of the year. But two years ago they both stepped out. But this year they decided to share some very exiting news and hold a press conference right here. So please welcome: CEO of Friar international Lucas Friar, and CEO of Matthews international Riley Matthews!" Everyone aplauded while Riley and Lucas walked onto the stage. The waved politely and took a stand in front of the microphones with their logo's on it. "Thank you everyone for joining us here today" Lucas started. "this year will indeed be different. As you may know, Matthews international and Friar international are no longer sworn enemy's. Over the past few years me and Ms. Matthews have bonded very well." Riley smiled at Lucas while he did his speech. "Over the course of almost 3 years we have now bin in a steady relationship. In a couple of months we will be getting married which has been explained in the press. very extensive." Riley said looking at all the reporters. "And we have come to a conclusion that this all won't work as two seperate company's" Riley added to it. "A recent change in our lives convinced us that this is the right decision. This will be a big step for both our company's. Or better said: our company" Riley explained. Everyone looked surprised and someone rolled a plack on stage that was still covered by a big sheet. Riley saw her family in the back. All of them surprised, not knowing what was happening.
"From today on Friar and Matthews will combine their powers" The press jumped up to be the first to take a photo of this event in the technology history. "Cause Friar and Matthews are now...." Riley and Lucas pulled the cover off revealing the brand new logo. "EFM tech. international" They said in unison. The logo were the three letters hooked into each other. Lucas joined Riley on the other side of the plack and they both smiled proud. "EFM?" One reporter asked. "Yes" Riley said with a proud smile. She glanced at her family in the back. "EFM stands for....Erin Friar-Matthews. Who will arrive this fall" Riley said laying a hand on her stomach. Even more news made the flashes go wild, just like their family in the back. They were all shocked but happy. Everyone applauded. These two did things no one would've ever expected.
While everyone was trying to take a snap of this brand new bussines, Riley turned towards Lucas. "I'm happy we're in this together now." She whispered. Lucas smiled and nodded. "So am I, Erin will be the new start. This all is a new start. New company, new name, new life" Riley laid her hand on Lucas his cheeks. "As long as you're with me,I'm fine with whatever comes next." Lucas nodded happy. "So am i...truce?" He asked. Riley laughed and pecked his lips. "Definitely."
