Chapter 30

"Do you have everything?" Topanga asked when Riley came down with her suitcase. Riley nodded and placed it next to the door. "Yeah I think I've got it all. You'll send the rest of my stuff right?" Cory nodded. The Matthews family was aligned next to the door. "I've got an apartment ready for you sweetly, it'll be ready once you arrive" Riley smiled thankful and hugged her parents. "Thank you, for eveything. For taking care of me, for being supportive with my decisions. And I know this is so suddenly but....if I stay here I don't think I'll be able to stay away from....him" Riley said with a big sigh. Topanga held her daughter close. "It's ok sweety, I know having a broken heart sucks" Riley felt some tears well up in her eyes and she quickly wiped them away. She had to be strong. "I'll call when I arrive ok?" She asked. Topanga and Cory nodded. Riley walked over to her brother and hugged him. "Be good ok? From now on you're on your own against mom and dad. If you ever need me: call" auggie nodded and hugged his big sister. "I'm gonna miss you" he mumbled in her brown curls. "Oh I'm gonna miss you too augs" Riley said. They pulled away and Riley took ahold of her suitcase. "Ok then.....bye" she said. Her family waved at her while she walked out the door. Once it shut behind her she took a deep breath. With her future laying ahead of her she was more scared then ever. Mostly because she hoped she wouldn't have to do this alone. But it was best for him. She looked down at her hand and saw the shiny ring on her finger. She played with it while the taxi driver putted her bags in the car. "I'll always love you....I promise" she whispered.

"This is all your fault!" Lucas yellled at his father. "What? That she broke up with you! I'm not gonna lie son kind of relieved but I don't appreciate you yelling at me for it" Harold snapped at his son. "Why couldn't you just shut your mouth about all of it? We could've figured something out!" Emily held her brother back from attacking her father. "You're making a fool out of yourself son, it's just a girl!" Harold yelled. Lucas his blood was boiling. He wanted to break something. "Just a girl? I fell in love with her in just a couple of months! She's my everything dad!" Harold huffed. "Don't be such a whiny!" Lucas growled and Emily pushed him away. "Don't do it Lucas!" She begged him. "What is going on here? Why are you two yelling?" Mrs. Friar asked while walking into the room. "His girlfriend broke up with him and he's blaming me!" Harold accused Lucas. "Because she overheard him saying that she was gonna bring my entire future into trouble" Victoria gasped and turned to her husband. "Harold! Why would you do that?" She asked. "I was just telling him the truth!" Victoria shook her head and turned to her kids. "Emily, bring your brother to his room. I'm gonna have a word with your father" Emily nodded and pulled Lucas along.

"I CANT BELIEVE YOU'D DO THAT TO HIM" they heard their mother yell. "HOW ARE YOU TAKING HIS SIDE! YOU'RE ALWAYS TAKING HIS SIDE" their father yelled back. "They're yelling again" Emily said. Lucas sighed and fell onto his bed. "I need her Emily" Emily slumped over to his bed and sat next to him. "I know it hurts at first, but times will get better" She encouraged him. "You sure about that?" Lucas asked. "Remember Collin Danvers?" Emily asked. Lucas scoffed. "I hated him" Emily chuckled and nodded. "And I loved him. But he broke my heart" Lucas sat up as soon as he knew this was a lesson. "I thought I couldn't live without him, he went from all sweet gentle kind boyfriend to a complete jerk to me" Emily shrugged her shoulders. "I was devastated" Lucas nodded. "Yeah, that was the week the entire fridge was empty the same day it got filled" Emily hit her brother with a pillow. "Not funny" Lucas chuckled. "See, you're laughing. Just like I did the minute you came in and started telling me jokes" Lucas smiled soft and looked down. "I just.....nevemind" Lucas shook his head. "No tell me" Emily insisted. "I....I just always thought she was the one. I had never met a girl like her and that's why we kept our relationship a secret for so long. To prevent situations like this" he looked up at his sister. "We promised each other" he took out his necklace from behind his shirt. "Well....if you ever see each other again. And she's still wearing that ring. And you're still wearing it then....it's meant to be" Lucas smiled. "Thanks Em" Emily smiled and hugged her brother. "Now ice cream, vanilla or chocolate?" She asked. "All of them" Lucas fell back onto his bed and Emily left the room laughing.

"Why are you already leaving?" Maya asked. "For my own good, for preventing myself to go back to him" Riley explained while they walked into the terminal of the airport. "If i stay here I swear I'll be back in his arms by tonight and....it would be bad for him" Riley said shaking her head. "What about you?" Maya asked. "I'll have to get through this horrible feeling" Riley said looking down. Maya lifted her face to look into Riley's eyes. "Whenever you need me, call me" Maya said. "Of course, you're on speed dial" Maya smiled and hugged Riley tight. "I'm gonna miss you honey" Maya said preventing tears from falling into Riley's hair. "I'm gonna miss you too peaches, we'll call and Skype and if it's neccesary even write" Maya chuckled and pulled away from the hug. Both with tears rolling down their face they stood in the terminal, not wanting to make the first step to leave. Maya looked down at Riley's hand and smiled. "You're still wearing his ring" Riley nodded. "Yeah, as long as i still love him" Riley rose her hand. "I made a promise" Maya nodded. "I'm sure he'll keep the same promise" Maya took Riley's hands. "I love you honey" she said. Riley sobbed and hugged Maya once again. "I love you too peaches" after a first call for Riley's plane was announced ,Riley pulled away and took her suitcase. "Bye" she waved. Maya smiled and waved as well. "Have a good flight!" Riley smiled thankful and turned her back to her best friend. Maya sighed and turned back to the entrance. The two best friends walked away from each other, both heading for a different future.

A/N: So Riley leaves. She actually does. Next chapter will be a time jump. We've got about 10 chapters left. The end is written and I'll try to update as often as possible but I'm so busy lately. What do you think of this chapter? Do you like it? Well i hope you do, Cause it was hard to write. I did a lot of deleting and rewirting to get this the way is exactly wanted it. I feel like that's why it usual takes a long time before i post the chapters. The chapters i post are usually totally differnet from the first time I've written them. For example: did you know i first wrote this chapter back in december? I started thinking this would be the last chapter with Lucas going after Riley. But then i got different ideas and ended up with more ideas of what to come after this. So it's not over yet! Behold. More is coming soon. Anyway. I'm gonna end this now. Thanks for reading.
