"I came as quickly as I could....how many times has she fainted?....has she complained of pain or headaches?"
"Kahapon po, nag-uusap lang kami tapos bigla syang naduwal....kanina naman po, sabi nya bigla daw sumakit ang ulo nya....after a few minutes, nahimatay na sya...."
"Okay....pero wala naman syang ibang iniinda or nararamdaman?"
"Not that I know of....she was complaining that I snore loudly so she couldn't sleep....but we've sort of worked out a system already and as far as I know, she's been well rested naman...."
"Well, she's sleeping now and her vitals are normal....didn't you guys just come from abroad?"
"Yes Doc, we spent 4 days in Europe – Germany and London...."
"Hmm....it can be that her body is re-adjusting to the climate back here....was she complaining of anything before you left and during your travel?"
"Wala naman po"
"Okay....are you guys sexually active?"
"Doc?"
"Well, you did say you spent your honeymoon abroad...alangan naman natulog lang kayo dun...."
Rj couldn't believe that the doctor just asked him THAT question. How was he supposed to answer? He just smirked.
"I'll take that as a yes....it's normal....you're young, recently married, and definitely in love....." the doctor teased.
Rj just smiled, adjusting how he cradled Maine in his arms. He hadn't put her down since she he lifted her off the floor since she fainted. He sat on an armchair in the living room while their helper, Andeng, called for the doctor who happened to be their neighbour.
"Have you tried a pregnancy test kit?" the doctor continued.
"Uhmm....not yet...."
"Okay...take her to the hospital and have some tests done....these fainting and nausea spells can be symptoms of so many things....you'd want to make sure that she's diagnosed properly."
"Okay Doc....thanks a lot for your help"
Rj brought Maine to the hospital for tests despite her defiance.
"Why do I have to have these done? I'm fine na o...I haven't fainted again....I'm feeling fine!" Maine protested while Rj drove to the hospital.
"Sige na....please....I want to have peace of mind....I don't want you hurt or sick....I was so worried kaya when you fainted" Rj looked at Maine sadly.
"Oh...sorry....sorry....." Maine looked at him, and realized that Rj was really worried for her. "....thank you, love...."
"For what?"
"For looking out for me....for taking care of me..."
"Of course...you're my baby....I want you to be always healthy....and if ever may baby na tayo, healthy din sya..."
"Baby agad?"
"Bakit? Ayaw mo?"
"Ikaw muna baby ko, pwede?" Maine said as she cupped his jaw and gently brushed her hand on his cheek.
