"....wait lang...." Rj moved away from the screen. Sounds of sneezing, nose blowing, and sniffling could be heard in the background. Rj came back to the screen, his nose red, and eyes watery.
"...oh my....okay ka lang?" Maine asked, concerned.
"....allergies..." Rj said as he sniffled and brushed his finger across his nose.
"....medicine?"
"I took some kanina....but I have to go to work...."
"Hala sya! Anti-histamines make you sleepy....kaya pa?"
"Kaya naman...."
"What if you skip work nalang today....wala rin naman ako the rest of the time e...."
"Huh?"
"I'm just going to request na sa JFA lang ako....medyo mainit dito...nakakahilo...."
"Oh no" Rj pouts.
"....keri pa naman...." Maine replies.
"...Mahal, namumutla ka rin e..."
"Eh alam mo naman.....the show must go on..."
"I wish magkasama tayo...."
"Bakit? You were already feeling bad when I left yesterday...."
"Yun lang...."
"Wait....did you go to the doctor like I asked you?"

"Mahal naman e...."
"....wala to....yung parang yearly na lagnat lang....alam mo yun....yung once a year na major sakit.....I used to have this more often during my birth month...."
"Lagnat? Mahal! I'll text Direk na not to let you work today....kainis to! Gusto ko tuloy umuwi now..."
"No...you're coming home tomorrow naman na e...."
"Pero sinong mag-aalaga sa yo?"
"I'm fine....konting sinat lang to...."
"From what I see, hindi yan konting sinat...."

"....heh!" Rj frowned and pouted.
"....uuyyy! wag ka na magtampo....asus! nag-pout pa ang payb ko.....kung di ka lang cute..."

"wala....love you!"
"I love you....what's happening there now?"
"Eto...standby lang....papunta na kami sa location in a bit..."
"Ah okay...ingat ka dyan ha? I miss you..."
"I miss you too....uwi ako tomorrow....what do you want from here?"
"Hmm....wala naman....uwi ka lang....."
"Okay...o sige, aalis na daw kami....Mahal, please take care of yourself.....rest ka nalang today please...."
".....bye bye na....aalis na rin ako for EB....see you tomorrow, I love you!"
"Haay! Ang tigas talaga ng ulo ng payb ko o....o sige, I love you....see you!"
Maine didn't tell Rj that she had dysmenorrhea. The pain was still a bit bearable so she continued with her scheduled activities for the day. She came back to Manila the next day.
"I'm home!" she texted
"Yay! I'll see you in a bit...I'm bringing some soup.." Rj replied
"Okay...thank you....see you in a while...ingat..."

Rj arrived home feeling unwell and found Maine curled up on the sofa. He went to her, bent down, and felt the warmth of her skin as he gave her a kiss. He felt her neck and forehead with his hand to check if she was okay, she was warm. He scooped her up and brought her into their bedroom and laid her on the bed. He laid down beside her and Maine turned to her side and tried to wedge herself into Rj's side. She was slightly shivering so Rj pulled the comforter over her and turned toward her to embrace her. He rubbed her back then placed a pillow on her back to warm her up. After a while, he too, fell asleep, embracing Maine.
They both woke up several hours later, both sneezing and sniffling. Sick.
