He came into consciousness with a smile on his lips. Images of a smiling, happy caramel-skinned lass swirled in his thoughts. In his dream, she was busy mingling with friends, enjoying, her eyes twinkling and squinting when she giggled. She ran to him and snuggled. "Thank you" she said.
"Anything for you. Happy birthday! I love you.."
"I live you.."
"Live?"
"Yes because I know you...I live you..." she looked up at him and then gave him a smack on the lips.
He couldn't quite understand what she meant but he was more than happy to see her enjoying everything. Despite the challenges and heartaches she faced, she always had a ready smile and a determined attitude.
He fluttered his eyes open and the first thing that came into focus was the small pretty face of the girl of his dreams. Her messy hair framed her pretty face. He gently used his fingers to brush away some loose strands and slowly bent down to kiss her on the cheek.
She inhaled deeply and slowly opened her eyes too. She smiled.
"Good morning" he said.
"Mmm?"
"Good morning..did you rest well?"
"Good morning. Thank you for last night. Thank you for the party."
"That was the other night but, you're welcome.."
"Oh, the other night."
"Yeah, I had to work yesterday so I just let you sleep in."
"Thank you. I've never partied that hard"
"Ows?"
"Hmm."
"..I had to carry you to the car"
"Did I suka?"
"In the bathroom. But that was still early on. I think it was because of one drink you got. You were complaining it tasted awful but you still kept on drinking. Kat took the glass away from you but you still got it and drank all of it" He narrated, chuckling.
"Ows?"
"Yeah. I was with the guys in one corner, watching you. I came closer because I was afraid you'd trip or fall. You fell back on the couch nearby."
"I remember. Yeah, that blue one was really bad."
"Hahaha! But you finished it!"
"I think Mak challenged me to finish the drink in one go.."
"..and you ended up just barfing it all.." he chuckled.
"Oh well. How did the others do?"
"Well, a few were quite drunk that I had to ask the sober ones to take them home. Everyone seemed to have fun naman"
"That's good to know."
"Wait.."
"What?"
"May kulang sa celebration e"
"Ano?"
He pulled the covers over them. A lot of giggling and kissing sounds followed.
