Kanan's P.O.V

We made it back and I carried Ezra through the rain to the house. Hera helped by getting the door opened and ordered me to lay him on the bed in the guest room. I went upstairs and made it to the guest room. I opened the door and laid him on the bed.

Hera ran in and shooed me out of the room closing the door behind me. I trusted Hera and her skills. She was a nurse at a hospital and she knew what she was doing. The least I could do was to help out a little though. So I went downstairs to make something for Ezra.

Hera's P.O.V

I started to work on Ezra by taking off his wet clothes expect his underwear and replaced them with comfier ones. I pulled the blanket over his shivering body. Then I went into the guest refresher to grab a cloth and ran cold water over it. I went back to the boy and placed it on his forehead.

I went out of the room and grabbed some medicine from the cabinets in a different refresher. I was a woman on a mission and that was to heal the kid. I came back to the room and saw Ezra starting to wake up. I smiled and sat on the edge of the bed. "Are you feeling a little better?" I asked him worriedly.

His teeth started to chatter answering my question and my worry spiked. "Can you sit up and drink this medicine?" I asked again. He lifted the blankets and hid under the covers. Was he scared of me? I was saddened by the thought but smiled at his shyness. I set the medicine on a stand and removed some of the covers off of his head.

I saw innocent blue eyes look up at me and still heard his teeth chattering. I smiled and put the covers back over his head. I pulled them back up and cooed gently, "Peek-a-boo". I repeated the same thing again, "Peek-a-boo". I did it again, "Peek-a-boo". Then I saw him smile and giggle a little bit.

I laughed a little to and laid the covers down to where I could see his face fully. A knock at the door had out attention and I opened the door. I saw Kanan with a tray in his hands with soup and crackers on it. I smiled and let him in. "Are you hungry?" He asked Ezra. Ezra looked surprised and I could tell his mouth was watering.

He sat up in bed and Kanan set the tray on his lap. Ezra looked at us in disbelief and back down at the bowl. "Go on," I urged, "eat it while it's still hot". He picked up the bowl and took a little sip. His face lit up and then wolfed the bowl down. Once he was done, Ezra set the bowl down and had a huge mess all over his face.

I grabbed a napkin and began to clean his face. Ezra didn't like it but gave up some time later letting my finish.

Ezra perked up and held his stomach and mouth. Kanan grabbed the trash can and gave it to Ezra. He then threw up in the trash can. After he was done, Kanan took the trash can and set it to the side. I tried again with the medicine and he surprisingly drank the pink liquid. He gave a look of discussed making me smile. "Sorry, I forgot to tell you that it has a bitter taste".

After a while in silence I asked Ezra, "Why were you in a cellar?". He looked at me and I saw fear in those eyes. "Ezra, please talk to us," Kanan said gently, "we really want to help but we can't do that unless you tell use what's going on".

Ezra's P.O.V

They really do cared about me. I actually almost cried cause someone heard my plead when there wasn't a sound. But now they are asking me about why I'm living in my cellar. I was debating really hard on telling them or not while my gaze was laid into my lap.

You know what, if they do think of me like a Emile or mistake, then they would have done it a long time ago. Instead, they saved me from Zeb and his pals, a nexu, and now illness. I took a deep breath in and out, looking at both of them. They were really worried about me and really care.

"Ezra," Hera said worried, "please". I started to rub my fingers against my palm to provide support.

I started to explain, "I was t-wo, war ended. Mommy, daddy die. By my-self , liv-ing in cell-ar evvver since". I held back my tears in a attempt not to cry in front of them again. I didn't want to be seen as weak. I had a few sniffles here and there, and from holding back tears, a headache started to form.

My eyes were still looking at my lap but I felt two people sit on both of my sides. Then arms tangled themselves around me in a warm and comforting embrace. "Ezra, you are safe now and we will gladly let you stay here," Hera cooed. "And Ezra, you can cry, you will never be alone again," Kanan said.

Were my ears playing tricks on me? Is this a dream? I pinch myself and felt the pain. No, it was no dream and people actually care about me. I laid me head on Kanan's chest and listen to the steady beat of his heart. I cried for a while but calmed down with tear tracks running down my face. But a smile spread across my face and hope for getting a second chance rose. Yet, there was still a question nagging in the back of my head.

    'Will I be happy?'
