Kanan's P.O.V

Me and Hera were completely taken back by this. Hera recovered more quickly and sat next to Ezra and held him in her arms, soothing the boy. Hera looked at me with worry then I asked Ezra, "What do you mean, 'we're going to die?'" He peeked up and explained the best he could. "I-if y-you are a-a hang o-out w-with a p-person f-from, poor class, t-that m-eans p-punishment for t-them t-to."

"Then we will have to hide," Hera said but Ezra shook his head. "Why don't you want to hide?" I asked. "T-tracker in m-me," he said. They put trackers in people. What is wrong with this society?! I clenched my teeth in frustration then asked, "How far does the signal on the tracker go?" Ezra looked up at me with red eyes and said, "'The edge.'" "What's 'the edge?'" Hera asked softly.

"It fe-nce," Ezra said and me and Hera looked at each other. "Alright, we need to go now," I said. "But how are we going to get to the other side? The wealthy section is electrocuted and there's an angry mob of poor class and gate blocking our way." Hera explained. "Ezra, do you any other way?" I asked. He looked around until his eyes caught something on the ground.

I looked over at what he was staring at and smiled. "Good idea, Ezra," I said and walked over to the man hole cover. I grabbed some keys out of my pocket and used it to pop the lid open. I moved the cover and Hera and Ezra started to climb down the latter. I followed but closed the top off. Hera turned her phone on and used the flashlight setting to help us see.

"Do you know the way?" I asked Ezra and he nodded yes. Me and Hera followed him through the sewer until we arrived at another latter. He pointed to it and I climbed the latter. I pushed the lid up and looked around to see if any one was there. The streets were empty but that wasn't a surprise so I shoved the cover away and climbed out. "Come on," I said and the two climbed the latter.

Once they were out, I sealed it then we ran towards the fence that surrounds Capital City. I saw the fence and we all came to a halt. Ezra walked towards the fence but I grabbed his arm. "What are you doing? The fence could be on," I said and looked around in case there were troopers. "Not on, no hum," he said and went through the wires to prove it.

Me and Hera were reluctantly slipping through the fence with ease. I looked back one more time before following my family through the forest. We walked down the peaceful trail of the forest and it calmed us. With what we've been through, this was the nicest thing there was. We were walking for a while until I saw that it was getting late. I scanned the area for anything to hide in until I spotted a treehouse in the branches.

"I think we should stop for the night and hide in that treehouse," I said pointing at it. Hera agreed but Ezra didn't like look like he even wanted to be near the treehouse. "Ezra, what's wrong?" I asked. "No treehouse," he said quietly that I almost didn't catch it. "Why don-" I stopped when I remembered that he was afraid of heights. "Dear, he's afraid of heights," Hera said.

"Then how about we lay under this cozy looking tree," I said and that we all agreed on. I glanced at Ezra, who kept looking at the treehouse but immediately looked away. I sat next to him while Hera went to gather some fruit. "Are you sure your alright?" I asked and to my surprise, he shook his head no. "Can you tell me why your afraid of it then?" I asked.

"Stupid," he said which made me confused. "Then can you explain it to me cause it doesn't seem that you think that it is stupid," I said. Ezra looked at his hands which were doing what they usually do when he's nervous. "Really little, t-that w-was m-y tree-house," he said, "Girl t-there too. S-she fell o-off. C-couldn't sa-ve h-her," Ezra said with chills down his spine.

Poor kid. He saw someone fall out of the treehouse and onto the ground. It probably was terrifying but I didn't know how old he was. Yet, I now know why he's afraid of heights. He's afraid that the same thing will happen to him.

I sighed and scooted closer to Ezra and gave him a hug. The bushes rustled and Hera appeared through them. "I found some fruits and berries we can eat," she said smiling then frowned when she saw Ezra. "What's wrong?" She asked and set the food down on a cloth she carries around. "I'll tell you later," I said and she nodded. I released Ezra from the hug and went to go get some water.

I found a nearby stream with the clearest water I ever seen. I gathered twigs and weaved a bowl tight enough to hold the water. Depa showed me how to make things from stuff you find in the forest and gladly never forgot. Once I was down making it, I scooped some water a steadily made my way back.

I came back to find Hera and Ezra near a fire warming up. "I got some water," I said and handed the bowl to Ezra. He gave me a look. "We'll take turns just don't drink it all," I said and Ezra smiled before taking a couple of sips. He passed it to Hera then to me. We ate the food Hera picked with the only noise was the fire crackling. "I think we should rest up and I'll stay up to make sure nothing comes," I said.

Hera and Ezra laid against the tree and I put out the fire with the left over water. I laid against the tree and looked up at the starry sky. Tomorrow was going to a long day but at least I have my family beside me through everything that is happening.

Kallus's P.O.V

I opened my eyes and saw that I was tied up to the chair. "Hello my puppet," an all to familiar voice said. I looked up and glared at the hypnotist. "Why do you keep making me look like the bad guy," I snapped at the cold yellow eyes. "Once the poor section is wiped out then you my puppet, will make the troopers send out a message to find him," the hypnotist said grinning in the shadows.

I growled at the man and asked,"who's him?" "For a source of rebels, you should know who he is," the hypnotist said. My eyes widen when I realized who he was. "You'll never get him!" I shouted. "We will see about that Agent Kallus," he said grinning. "Why do you even want him?!" I said. The hypnotist walked up and leaned over, whispering, "He is the key to the rebels destruction." I glared at the man as he walked back into the shadows.

"One more question," I said and the hypnotist turned around and looked at me. "Who are you?" I asked disturbingly quiet. The man turned around and stared down at me with cold eyes. "Maul," was all he said and left the room. I looked around for something sharpe to free myself but there was nothing. "How long have I been here for?" I whispered to myself.
