Ezra's P.O.V

I woke up to see the sun shining through the colorful leaves. I turned my head to see Hera awake and laying her head on Kanan's shoulder. She looked over at me and smiled, ruffling my hair. "Hey sleepy head," she cooed and I smiled before rubbing my eyes. Hera slowly sat up without disturbing Kanan's slumber.

"Do you want to help me get something to eat?" She asked me. I smiled and nodded my head. We both stood up but I fell back down when pain rushed through my stomach and leg. "Are you alright?" Hera asked me and checked for injuries. I made her stop looking and she asked, "Does your leg or stomach hurt?"

I didn't want to bother her so I stayed silent. "Ezra," Hera warned and I let out a sigh. "Both," I muttered under my breath and Hera nodded before standing up again. "Stay here and I'll go get our breakfast," Hera said. She walked off and left me feeling useless. I wish I could help but my injuries are preventing me from doing so at the moment.

A couple minutes later, Kanan stirred in his sleep but didn't wake up. I looked out into the trees at the beautiful scenery until my eyes locked with the one thing that gave me nightmares. The treehouse. I kept starring at it not in fear but in wonder. I wondered what happened that day with the girl.

I carefully stood up without waking Kanan up and trying to make it as painless as possible. I grunted a bit and bit on my lip so I won't scream. I leaned on my good leg and up against a tree. I looked back at the treehouse and I didn't know why but something was calling me towards it. I slowly limped from tree to tree towards the treehouse.

I was to curious to be afraid right now. Then I made it under the tree the held the small play house. To think this brought happiness when I was young but now it haunts my nightmares. Why did it lure me? I don't exactly know why but I looked at the old rugged house in the tree. It looked like it could fall down and crush me any second.

I let out an irritated sigh and was about to go back to Kanan before he wakes up and finds me missing. But I paused when a noise came from the treehouse. I looked over my shoulder and up at the treehouse. Everything was silent and my curiosity was getting the best of me. Did I really want to climb up into what gave me my fear of heights and possibly of the disappearance of the girl?

'I can't believe I'm doing this,' I thought and limped over to the ladder. I grabbed the bars and took and deep breath in and out. 'Do not look down,' I thought and started to climb. It was hard to climb when my leg and stomach were still sore but managed with the pain. I've had worse than this and if I couldn't handle it then I wouldn't be here today.

'Don't look down, don't look down, don't look down,' I kept thinking but accidentally peeked down. I was up so high and everything was getting blurry. I immediately turned away and regained my composure.

'Wait ago for not looking down,' my common sense said.

'Shut up,' I thought and went back to climbing. I finally made it to the door of the tree house and lifted the hatch up. I looked around inside then I fully opened it. The door leaned against the wall so it didn't make much noise. I lifted myself into the treehouse and closed the door. I looked back at my surroundings of the place.

There was a small wooden table and chairs on the left against the wall. There was a trash can in the corner and some toys on a rug in the middle of the small room. There was a ladder on the right wall that led to what I'm guessing was the top of the treehouse. I limped over and sat on the rug. I picked up a wooden car toy off the floor.
