Ezra's P.O.V

Kanan opened the door and my heart stopped. The roads were covered with bodies and troopers were all over retrieving them from the ground then drive the bodies off to somewhere. There were even animals dead on the ground. The sky was gloomy making the scene even more disturbing.

Kanan shut and locked the door then looked at us both. I felt my hands shaking and my breath coming unsteady. Me and Kanan could have ended up like them. Laying dead on the street. "Ezra," Kanan asked, "Are you okay?". I was going to nod my head yes but my mental state took over a shook my head no.

Kanan gave me a sympathetic look and smiled gently. "How about we stay inside for today and then if they are gone tomorrow, we'll go for a walk and get you clothes," Hera reassured. "You two go a find something to watch and I'll get some hot chocolate," Kanan said walking towards the kitchen.

Me and Hera went into the living room. "Would you like to watch a movie?" Hera asked. I tilted my head in confusion. "It's just some entertainment you watch," she explained. I smiled and nodded my head yes. Hera smiled and looked spectacle at the flat silver circle in her hands. She shrugged and put the disc in.

"This movie is based off a true story," she informed. I was happy that I was learning new things and I couldn't wait to watch the movie.

Kanan walked in with a tray and on top were three steaming mugs of hot chocolate. Kanan handed me one and I smiled thankfully. He set the tray on a small table in front a this big soft seat (couch). Hera turned the lights off and sat next to me with Kanan on the other side of me. "So what movie are we watching?" Kanan asked. "I don't know love, did you switch the disc again and put it in the wrong case," Hera said, "cause they don't label discs".

"I don't know," Kanan replied, "I guess we will find out. It could be that new movie I bought but I didn't know what it was about. Yet, I seemed interesting to watch cause the people at the movie store said it was true story". Hera smiled rolling her eyes. So we sat back and watched the movie nursing our hot chocolates.

Kanan's P.O.V

So far the movie was about the end of the war. A little boy watched his house burn down and parents get killed in front of him. I wondered if this was to much for Ezra and glanced over. He was horribly shaking and was breathing unevenly. He's having a panic attack!

I quickly grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. "Kanan, what on earth are you doing?" Hera said confused. I didn't answer and flipped the lights on. Hera quickly heard Ezra hyperventilating and went into nurse mode. "Ezra sweetie, calm down," Hera said, "deep breath in and out". Hera and Ezra both were inhaling and exhaling and Ezra slowly started to regain his composure.

Ezra started to cry and Hera immediately wrapped him in a hug. I came over and sat down next to them. Then I heard Ezra mutter something, "Mama, papa". That movie was based on a true story and it was Ezra's! Now I feel horrible and wanted to sue whoever made that movie. But right now, I needed to be here for Ezra.

"It's ok, were aren't going to watch it ssshhh..." Hera cooed. Ezra started to calm down and drift off. But before he did fall asleep, he muttered, "Papa..........mama". It was like he was referring to me and Hera. I smiled and my wife did too. Hera kissed the top of his head and we all laid back snuggling on the couch.

Hera's P.O.V

I woke up and looked down at the sleeping boy in my arms. Smiling, I kissed Ezra's head and my husband's cheek before getting up. I positioned Ezra to lay comfortably on Kanan. Then I went to go make some lunch.

A couple minutes later, Kanan trudged into the kitchen rubbing his eyes. "Good morning love," I said and continuing to stir soup broth. "Hey," he said and grabbed some bowls and spoons setting them out on the table. "How's Ezra?" I asked Kanan not looking away from the broth. "I think he might still be grieving but he's a strong kid and I'm sure he will be fine," Kanan said.

A minute later, the soup was done. "Kanan, can I go and wake Ezra up?" I asked, "He will probably be hungry". "Yes dear," he said and walked out to the living room. I poured the soup into the bowls then put the extra pot of soup back on the oven. "Ezra!" I heard Kanan say.

Kanan's P.O.V

I was going to wake up Ezra and saw him laid out on the couch. I went over and heard a whimper. I looked over Ezra's shoulder and saw him crying with teeth clenched. "Ezra!" I said and started to shake him. Hera came in and saw the boy's distressed state. "Ezra, it's just a dream," I said shaking him, "wake up".

Ezra shot up and breathing heavily looking around. He calmed down and pulled his knees to his chest in a fetal position. I sat next to him and embraced him rubbing his back. Poor Ezra has been through enough as is. Why could such an innocent boy have such a cruel life? He didn't deserve it and I was determined to give him a better life.

Ezra pulled out and rubbed his eyes. "Th-ank y-y-ou," he said smiling. Me and Hera smiled back. "Let's go eat before the soup gets cold," Hera suggested. We went to the kitchen and sat down eating Hera's amazing homemade soup. I looked over at Ezra and saw a spark of joy in his eyes. My smile grew and I kept eating.
