Kanan's P.O.V

We returned to our home from the hospital a couple hours ago. Ezra needed bed rest for a while and seemed to not like the idea but he didn't have any other choice. Me and Hera keep him company so he doesn't get bored or lonely.

Speaking of Hera, she just came back from the store with a present in her hands. "What's the present for?" I asked. "I was just looking around when I found these," she said patting the box. "What is it?" I asked. "You'll see and this will help with Ezra's condition," she said. "It'll help with that wound?" I said and thought there wasn't much else we could do with the wound.

"No, with his other one," she said smiling. "His ASD, autism condition, dear." "Oh," was all I said before smiling, "Let's go see if he's awake." While Hera was gone, Ezra decided to take a nap while I was in the kitchen (hopefully not cooking).

We walked up the stairs and went towards the kid's room. I opened it quietly with a creak and we saw him laying there, staring at the ceiling. "Ezra," I said quietly not to scare him. Ezra turned his head over and looked at us then smiled. "Hey Ez," Hera said walking into the room with me following.

"H-hi," he said and then he saw the present. I could tell that he was curious of what the box was in Hera's hands. "I got ya a little get well present," she said and handed the present to the twelve year old. He sat up with my help then slowly but surely, tore the wrapping paper.

When he was done tearing it open, he saw the box and picked at the tape. I grabbed some scissors and cut the tape. "Th-thank y-you," he said smiling at me. "No problem, kid," I ruffled his hair gently. He opened the wings of the box and looked inside. Ezra pulled out beautifully carved wooden statues of some animals and objects.

"We'll use these to help you practice on naming things," Hera explained. Ezra smiled, "Tha-nk yo-u." He gave Hera a hug then held up one of the statues, "Wha-t th-is?" I chuckled and said, "That's a bunny." "Bu-bu-bun-bunny," Ezra slowly pronounced the word, "Bun-bunny," "good job, Ez," Hera said and Ezra pulled out another statue.

He showed it to us and I said, "That's a car." He looked at the weird object in his hand and tried his best to say it, "Ca-Car." Me and Hera smiled at the boy's wonder and excitement at learning new things and saying them. "Car," he said smiling when he finally got it.

Ezra again, put his hand in the box and pulled out another one. I showed it to us and Hera said, "That's a bird." "Bi-bi-bir- birdie," he pronounced, "birdie." Me and her chuckled while Ezra gave us confused looks. "It's a bird," I said and Ezra tried again. "Bird-," I thought he was going to get it until he continued, "ie." "We'll work on it later," I said and he nodded his head before plunging his hand back into the box.

He pulled out the object and showed it. "That's a clock," I said and Ezra tried to pronounce it. "Clock," he said when he got it and excitingly pulled out another from the box. "That's a cat," Hera said. "Kitty," he said. "I guess it can be a kitty too," I said and Hera stood up. "I'm going to make some supper," she said and left the room.

I sat on the edge on the bed while watching Ezra pull out another statue. He looked at it like he knew what it was. "Do you know what it is?" I asked and Ezra scanned the object some more before realization hit him.

Ezra's P.O.V

I was looking at the statue of the familiar creature in my hand. Then I remembered what it was and put it back in the box and shut it. "B-bear," I said then a memory came.

I was still with my parents and we were in our hut, playing with toys. Then we heard screams from outside and mom and dad looked out the window. "Bear attack!" I heard someone yell from outside. I looked around the room and saw that the girl was in my house.

"Mommy, d-daddy," I said in fright and the two adults came over. They picked me and the girl up. "We needed to go," dad said and we jumped out the back window. "Why did we jump out of a window?" The girl asked. "For fun," mom said then a loud noise came from inside the house.

Mom and dad made us duck down while the bear inside our hut, destroyed it. "Daddy, I'm scared," I said and he held me in his arms. The girl was crying in my mom's arms. Then everything became black.

I gasped and sat up in my bed. Kanan looked at me with a worried expression. "Are you ok?" He asked and I nodded my head. That's when I realized that I was breathing unevenly. I calmed my breathing and looked up at Kanan. "Are you sure you're ok?" He asked. I gave a confused look onto why he was asking still. "You were crying," he said and I wiped my eyes to feel my arm getting wet.

"I'm fine," I said smiling to show that I was really fine know. "Alright," he said unsure and asked, "what happened?" "Mem-ories," I said looking at the blanket. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked and I stubbornly shook my head. "Ok," Kanan said and stood up, "I'm going to see if lunch is done. I'll be back." I nodded my head and he left the room. This let helped me have time to gather my thoughts.

Then a thought came to me, "How did a bear get into the poor section?"
