Riley sat up. Her eyes were red. She'd been crying hard.

"Baby, before you speak, let me explain." I took a breath. "I'm sorry. Riley, I'm sorry. I woke up last night and needed to write in my journal. I forgot it at the other house. And I needed it. Baby, I needed it. So I walked and went to go get it. I meant to get back before you woke up. But I lost track of time..." Riley held up a hand. She pressed a finger to my lips.

"Honey, stop okay?" She cuddled closer to me. "I understand, you needed this journal. But what you don't understand is that you left the house without telling me. Or leaving me a note."

"I know Riley, and I'm sorry. It was a rash, spur of the moment decision." I pulled her close.

She pushed me away, "No Lucas. No. You are not allowed to run away anymore. Understand? You are to tell me where and when you go, or bring me with you." She grabbed my hand, lovingly. "Baby, please. Don't make me worry. I love you and want only the best for you. Don't make me worry."

"I love you Riley." I kissed her forehead.

She cuddled into my chest, "I love you too Lucas. And I only want the best for you, my love. So, we're going to make some changes. No running off without me. Or tell me where you're going."

I loved my girlfriend so much. She only wanted to protect me and make sure I had the best life possible. I'd fully live by these rules. Only for her.

"Number two. Baby, do what I tell you. Everything. Please, Love."

Of course. I'd be protected here. By Riley. And by her family.

"And number three, stick by my side. Constantly. I don't want you to get hurt Baby. Agreed?"

"Yes," I said, tucking her hair behind her ear. Kissing her forehead again. "Of course Baby girl. I love you."

"I love you too Lucas."
