Riley
Did I feel guilty about forcing new rules on Lucas after he ran off? No. He was my boyfriend, and he couldn't worry me like that. I wouldn't let him.
Besides, I didn't think that my rules were too bad. Lucas just had to stay by me, bring me where everywhere he was going and do what I told him. All to protect him. Everything I would do was to protect him.
"Come on Lucas. Let's go have breakfast. Mom hasn't brought in my tray yet. Will you eat today?" I looked at Lucas. First test.
"Yes, I guess so."
Smiling widely, I reached up and planted a kiss on my boyfriends lips. "Thank you, Lucas." He had succeeded.
Grabbing his hand, I pulled Lucas down the hall and to the kitchen.
"Riley! So glad you're here!" My mom smiled. "Thank you Lucas."
Pancakes and bacon were spread on the table. My mouth watered.
"Sit down Honey." Lucas and I sat down on the bench. I cuddled closer to my boyfriend.
"Have some pancakes Lucas." I forked a couple onto his plate. And then some bacon, before doing the same thing on my plate.
He paused, hesitantly picking up his fork. Lucas began to cut his pancake into thin strips, eating them one by one.
"I'm glad you're eating, Lucas." I smiled, planting a kiss on his cheek. And I'm glad you're doing what I tell you too. I just want you to be safe. Just want to protect you.
I finished before he did, leaving plenty of time left before school.
"I'm going to go get ready for school." I told him. "I'll meet you back here." Lucas was already ready. He wore jeans and a blue shirt. I loved the colour blue on him. It brought out his eyes.
"Mom, where's Isaac?" I asked.
"Dad took him to a cool nursery we found. Then he's going to school." Mom replied. "Go get ready. You don't have a lot of time."
Once I was in my room, I quickly threw on blue, tight jeans and a black tank top. It was slightly chilly outside, so I pulled on a grey sweater and left it unzipped. Black high tops covered my feet. I left my long brown hair flow down in its natural curls.
"Ready to go Lucas?" I asked. Lucas pushed his still full plate away.
"Yes Riley." He grabbed his backpack. And so did I.
"Subway? Or walk?" Lucas asked, putting an arm around my waist.
I liked making decisions. "Mmm, walk. We have time."
"Sounds good Babe." It was my first day back at school with Lucas as my boyfriend. I smiled, tucking my head under his arm.
"I love you," Lucas said.
"I love you too. Let's have a great day." I said, looking up at my boyfriend. Puckered my lips.
He looked down and smiled, kissing me quickly.
"Look, there's the school." I pointed. "You ready to have a great day?"
"Of course Honey."
"Remember, stay close to me and do what I say. And tell me where ever you go." I smiled. "It's just to protect you Honey. I want you to be safe."
"I know Riley." He kissed my forehead. "I know. I'll meet you outside all of your classes today."
"Of course. Now let's go to school."
