Soojung
I sighed in content, wiping off the sweat that started to bead up on my brows. I looked up at the big, baby blue sign shining in cursive English.
"Stay Baking"
I smiled widely. I've finally did it. I opened up my own bakery. After three years of taking business course after business course, I've gotten enough knowledge to know how to successfully open a business of my own. I've had this dream of owning a bakery since I was 11. 10 years later, and I've finally done it. The best part is that I didn't use a single dime that my late grandfather left me. I've been working since 15 years old to get to this point in my life.
I walked through the big glass doors, polishing it off just a tad before I turned on the "open" sign. I walked behind the counter, and counted all the baked goods that we have on display. Then I put on my pink apron that said "A cake a day keeps the sadness away!" It was a gift from my one of my best friends, my sister Soomi. She's always believed that I'd accomplish my goals. She's one of the few reasons why I have. I heard the bell ring and quickly walked to the counter.
"Welcome to the new opening of Sta- oh it's just you." I said, starting off polite and ending off in a sour note. My ex-boyfriend, Sung-oh(A/N Stan talent Stan 24k... even though he's on hiatus he was my first bias in the group lol) walked in with his new girlfriend, also known as my ex-best friend Yuna. Apparently while me and Sung-oh were dating (for two years, mind you) they supposedly "fell in love" and dated in secret behind my back. For 1. Whole. Year.
They both smiled at me apologetically, as if that can solve everything.
"We came to congratulate you, we are very proud." Yuna said, bowing slightly. I rolled my eyes with a small smile. Sung-oh pulled out a small package and handed it to me.
"I hope this can be useful for you." He said, and they quickly bid goodbye before I could even say a thank you. I shrugged and opened the package. In it was a few recipes for different things. I looked through few and found a few recipes I'm willing to try. I smiled to myself. Even though I probably should hate them, I relied on them for a big part of my life, it's impossible for me to hate them. I heard the bell ring one more time, and so I looked up with a smile while simultaneously putting the package away.
"Welcome to Stay Baking's opening! The first 50 customers get a free sample of anything they'd like, so please invite your friends!" I said with a polite tone and smile, bowing at the end. The first customer was an elderly lady, with a small smile on her face.
"Oh, my grandson would love this place, a lovely young lady who likes to bake!" She laughed, making me smile. She walked around, looking at the sweets and breads that I have made early that morning.
"Oh, macarons are my favourite, can I have a sample of the almond please?" She asked with a point to the macaron. I nodded and went to grab the tongs to get the sample. I opened the display and grabbed the almond macaron, putting it in a cute cupcake wrapper. She thanked me and bit into it. Her eyes widened, making me semi- nervous. She swallowed and squeaked like a teenager. I laughed
"This is amazing! I'll take 5 almond and 5 vanilla please!" She said with a wide grin. I smiled politely and grabbed the bag to put the macarons in. I got her order and led her to the register. I tallied up her order.
"That'll be $6.50 please." I said with a smile. She handed me the money and I gave her the bag. "Thank you for being the first customer of Stay Baking! May I please take a picture with you to commemorate this special moment with you?" I asked while taking out my Polaroid camera. She laughed and nodded
"Get my good side though, sweetie. I plan on coming back plenty of times." She winked. My already huge smile grew larger. I posed with the lady and took the picture.
"You look so adorable!" I said with a small giggle. I took out a sharpie and wrote down "First Customer:..."
"May I get your name please?"
"Of course sweetie! It's Min Jihoon."
