Chapter 15: "This in a camp for people with anxiety problems."
-... then I told him I was an idiot. But then she apologized, and I did too because I had been the idiot. So we kissed and the fight was over ... Do you think I'm very flexible? Or was I well?
I honestly was not listening to anything Tris said about her problems with Jake, they were boring me, but I did not want to tell her.
"Okay, you're right." I nodded and she kept talking. We arrived at our lockers and took my books and put them in my backpack. Mondays were always the worst days. And more so if Aaron did not show up and I did not have to stand his harassing look and ruin the atmosphere with my stupid questions.
Jake suddenly appeared beside Tris, sucking his face a little with his lips.
Disgust.
I closed my locker with a loud rumble that made them separate.
-Just enough, it's very annoying that two players are in action. Calm your hormones at once. "Jake, already accustomed to my comments, smiled.
"It's always a pleasure to talk to you, Kels." I bowed and they kissed again.
God, I needed a boyfriend urgently.
I took the books from Tris's class and put them in his purse and then I closed it, without interrupting them this time.
What a good friend she was, for God's sake.
"And how they're going to ignore me, because they hate me, like everyone else, I'm going to tell them right now that I know they think they look cute while they kiss, but it's not really that way. They look like two vacuum cleaners. Sucking his face at each other. "Tris pulled away from Jake and looked at me as he left kisses on his cheek.
"You're jealous because you're alone and no one loves you." I crossed my arms.
"Unlike you, I do not need a man to know that I am beautiful. So shut your mouth. "She kissed Jake again. Literally. I do not want you to choke on your tongue or something.
-Ja, ha, very funny .- Every day I loved my comments.
I rolled my eyes with a smile and spotted blond hair in the distance.
Alex.
Well, here's my chance.
He was in a hurry, he could see that he was looking at his watch and walking very fast. I figured he was heading for his locker.
Perfect.
"I see them in class." I have to see something with a math partner. "Jake and Tris pulled apart and looked at me as I walked backwards. BYE! "I practically ran to catch him and keep a safe distance.
The bell rang and I read from her lips a few rudeness that a young lady should not repeat.
Although she was not a young lady. But that was not the point.
All the students began to walk in the opposite direction, that is to say they were going to crush me.
I elbowed, kicked and shoved and even thought I was going to lose it, but no one can against Kelsey Brooks.
I folded in an empty hallway, and saw him there pulling books out of a locker. I walked as fast as I could toward him, gripping my purse.
I did not know why, but something was running through my veins. Anger, fury, adrenaline, whatever. Before he reached his side he lifted his head and looked at me. He quickly closed the locker and walked quickly, trying to get rid of me, again.
"LAWRENCE!" I turned and ran to him. He turned and I jumped on him and made him fall.
That had definitely been a tackle. I had to register for rugby, with a little practice it could be very good.
It was obvious he could have dodged me, but for some reason he had let me push him.
Maybe he knew he deserved it.
"Kelsey, what are you doing?" He took my shoulders to get up a little so I could see my face better. His eyebrows were raised and there was a shadow of smile on his face. I frowned at how cute it was.
Concentrate on Kels, stand firm.
"I'm not going to let you go until you answer all my questions." I aimed my index finger at him and he smiled underneath me.
"You know I can get up and go whenever I want, right? In case you did not know I'm much stronger than you.
It probably was, but I had mine and I was not going to let it go until I got what I wanted.
"Do not play smart with me, boy. I'm going to hit you hard and you will not know where it came from. "
God. Next time, try to make your smile less perfect so I do not melt like an idiot.
"This is all very funny, eh?" Alex nodded.
-A little, yes.
"Well, it's not funny. I want to know what happens to you. "He grimaced with his lips and looked into my eyes, raising his eyebrows.
"Can we at least stop?" I shook my head.
For what? Why would I run away and avoid me again? No, sir, he was not that stupid.
"Good." She pulled her hands from my shoulders and passed them behind her head.
God, his biceps.
Concentration, Brooks. Concentration.
I shook my head.
"I want to know what happened to Aaron.
"With Aaron?" "He was a bad liar."
"Stupid, with Aaron."
"Nothing, nothing happened to Aaron.
"And why one day before he disappeared he went mad and treated me like a mentally deranged?"
"She has anxiety issues." She shrugged as if it were a small thing. I narrowed my eyes.
Liar.
"And why did he disappear?"
-It's in a camp for people with anxiety problems.
Yeah right.
"I do not believe you at all." He shrugged and got up off the ground taking me with him.
"It's not my problem." She took her things and started walking. I crossed my arms and tightened my jaw.
Damn liar.
He turned as if he could have heard me.
Can I give you some advice, Kels? -I said nothing. He'd never thought Alex was capable of lying to anyone. It looked so good. But that only heightened the feeling of knowing why he was lying. Just because I like you, Kelsey, stop being so curious, okay? Forget whatever you have in mind, because that will only bring you trouble. "He turned and left. Buffet strongly.
"All right, Dad, whatever you say."
Yeah right.
