Chapter 37th

We were at the Burrow when it happened. It was our weekly Sunday family lunch and, being summer vacations, the kids had to sit separately since there are so many people in this family.

James, who came back for the weekend, was telling us stories about his trainings at Puddlemere and we could see right through his lies but we went along. Victorie and Teddy – who have been upgraded to the adults’ table – came over to tell us the updates on the wedding.

“So, it will be between Christmas and New Years so everyone will be here. Don’t worry about the cold, Molly found a charm that will keep the entire Burrow well heated. Oh, yes it will be here. We decided to keep the tradition and all but I already told Maman that I want a big party and she said she would take care of it. There will be loads of guests since there are the entire Weasley family plus my French family and there are our friends from Hogwarts and my friends from work and Teddy’s friends from work and urgh, there is so much to think about that I think I might be going mental!” Vic sat on Louis’ chair as he offered it to his older sister. I felt bad for her because it really must be stressful having to plan a wedding and all but she was getting married so that should make it up for all that.

“But Vic you know you shouldn’t have to plan it all by yourself right? That’s why you have to choose a maid of honor and the bridesmaids.” Hugo talked between bites. Nothing can stop him from eating his food, not even our cousin’s distress.

“I know, I know. I already chose my maid of honor but I haven’t gotten a chance to talk arrangements with her yet. And about the bridesmaids, I was hopping Dominique would be one of them. What do you think sis?” Dom was shocked. It was no secret how much Dominique loved weddings but, given her constant disagreements with Victorie, she thought Vic would never choose her to help with the wedding arrengements. I remember she told me that one day at school after Teddy’s proposal.

Once the initial shock had wore off, Dom’s face broke into the biggest smile I’ve ever seen – on her – till this day and launched herself on her sister. “Yesyesyesyesyesyes, for god’s sake, yes!”

We all laughed and Vic pushed Dom off of her. “Good. Don’t make me regret my decision Dominique, I trust you on this.”

“I will not let you down.”

“And who will be the others?”

“Oh, I asked Clara, my cousin from my mother’s side, and Rachel and Dina, my friends from Hogwarts. The maid of honor is Molly but the bloody girl won’t be back from Egypt until October!”

“But the wedding is drawing closer.”

“I know, she has been doing a lot of things from there but it’s not the same. Anyway, I leave you to your food. Dom we will talk at home okay?” And she was off. I swear, that girl will be mad by her wedding day…

The conversation returned to normal and the meal went on until…

(Remember when I started the chapter saying that something happened? Yeah, that’s it)

7 owls came together and landed on the table. Trouble is the table is not so strong or so spacious as to hold 7 bloody owls at once so… it broke.

I watched with sorrow as my food was trampled by birds and embraced by the soil of the Burrow’s garden. Hugo had the same look in his face. Our parents and aunts and uncles and everyone came over to see what was going on.
