I know its been a pretty long while but it's here right? enjoy! I'll babble in the end
Chapter 43rd
As promised, Hugo and Brian were fully recovered after a week but my little brother was unable to escape my mother's fury. Headmistress McGonagall found it fitting to send a letter to each of the more seriously injured students so when my Mum and Dad received a letter informing their little boy was in the infirmary with a burnt leg, they weren't all too happy.
I know, most parents would be concerned and be nice to their kid, asking if they need anything and whatnot. Not my parents though. Hermione Weasley sent a howler to my brother which was received during breakfast scowling him for being stupid enough to be involved in a fire.
'Hugo Charles Weasley how dare you get me and your father worried like that? Don't you know better than this? And you didn't even made an attempt to write us about this! We had to hear it from the Headmistress! If I find out that you were somehow involved in all of this you will be in so much trouble Mister. You are grounded! As soon as you get home for Christmas!'
And then came my Dad's voice, not nearly as angry as Mum's. 'Hope you'll get better in time for the game Hugh! Make me proud!' Followed by Mum scowling him and the howler finally bursting into flames.
I also got a letter from them – though thankfully, not a howler – telling me off for not writing to them the moment it happened and asking if I was okay. Anyhow, Hugo got slightly humiliated and that funny.
The school went back to normal, classes were not interrupted, The Daily Prophet did not pay us a visit, Scorp and I remained Heads and the snow filled the school grounds. My forearm injury had faded in a bit over a week, leaving only a faint red spot to tell the story.
Albus got us practicing for the game like crazy. It was his first game as Captain so he was determined to win and suddenly my sweet best friend/ cousin turned into an authoritative-insensitive-rude person. Now that I think about it, he was acting a little bit like James. Go figure.
"Do you call that hitting? My grandmother can hit better than that! Try again!" He shouted at one of the new beaters, Adam Lyle.
"Your grandmother's gonna hit you over the head if you keep barking orders like that." Hugo wasn't taking Albus' bullshit any longer.
"I heard that Weasley!"
"Geez Albus, if I didn't want you to hear I wouldn't have shouted!" Albus wasn't taking Hugo's bullshit any longer. I flew with my broom and stopped between the two.
"I think we should call it a day Al, it's almost dinner time and it's cold." Lately, I was the only one who could get it through our captain's head. He seemed reluctant to take my suggestion but did so anyway.
"Alright then, if you're all tired you're no use to me." A collective relief from all the members of the Gryffindor's Quidditch Team was felt immediately. "Be back here Friday at 5." Everyone groaned but didn't oppose.
I walked next to Albus to the cupboard where we put the balls away. "Al don't you think you're being to hard on them? I mean, I know it's the opening game and all but if you keep this up you will be hated by all and get us sick in the process."
"But we aren't good enough yet! We lost so many members so there's a lot of people on the team that are not used to our moves. Brian and Adam are still not moving in synch, Valerie and Henry are not scoring as much as they should and to top it off Hugo keeps giving me smart retorts that strips me of my authority. Seriously Rose, you're the only one who's not against me!"
