Chapter 22nd

It was finally time to go home, get away from one hell to another where it’s hopefully more bearable. The past 5 days have been terrible.

5 days ago - Monday

“Rose we should go to dinner, it’s getting late.”

“Don’t worry Cam, I just need to finish this essay, you can get going”

“Okay then” He leaves the library and I continue writing my ancient runes essay about the importance of the runes on the ancient societies. I needed only a conclusion but it really didn’t help that I couldn’t think of one. When someone took the seat next to me I didn’t look up, it was probably no one important. Whoever was didn’t say a thing.

I started making faces at the parchment. Why did I have to take this stupid subject anyway? Oh yeah, because I had the stupid dream of becoming a stupid unspeakable and that subject was requested. I started banging my head against the wooden table hoping that the perfect conclusion would be banged into my brain.

“What are you doing?” I heard the question accompanied by a chuckle and I could just imagine the smirk. Why? Why me? Why now? Why him?

“Why are you here?” I questioned resting my head on top of the essay. I wouldn’t look at him.

“I wanted to talk to you” I heard him; the lightness had dropped from his voice.

“Too bad, I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Come on Red, the least you could do is listen to me” I cringed at the use of the nickname.

“I can’t do this Malfoy” I looked up into his eyes, the tear threatening to fall from my eye. “I just… can’t”

“Please” I shook my head and stared down at the parchment, I couldn’t even make out the words written in it, it was all blurred.

“It’s too painful”

“It doesn’t need to be”

“Go away, please” I heard him sight and get up.

“This is not over. I won’t let you go that easily Red” And then he walked away, leaving me alone in the library.

I tried to gulp down the tears, only a couple had escaped and were now streaming down my cheeks. Of course he wouldn’t go down without a fight, it was foolish to think otherwise. This was the first time I had been left by myself since Albus took me out of the Shack and naturally he took the chance.

Taking a deep breath I gathered my stuff and left for the bathroom before going down stairs, I needed to get myself together so that my friends wouldn’t be suspicious.

I put on my happy falsetto and progressed with my night as if nothing had happened, I would copy Lauren’s conclusion afterwards.

The sun was finally coming out and James took the chance to book the field. We would have the game against Slytherin after Easter and it wouldn’t be pretty since both teams are incredibly competitive and wants to get hold of the cup. Needless to say, I longed for the game, it was my chance to beat peoples asses and be aggressive without getting detention. I would be very un-ladylike.
