9th Chapter
Home sweet home. It’s good to be back, I missed my bed and my parents and… Muggle electronics! Having muggle grandparents does have it advantages like owning a cell phone, computer and television. My favorite is the computer.
My family lives at Godric’s Hollow, 3 houses away from the Potters (they live where Al’s grandparents used to live). It’s a big house, but not a manner, and very comfy. Hugo and I each got a suite for ourselves and a ‘play room’. My favorite part of the house is the backyard. It’s big enough for two kids to run like crazy and have swings. It’s very peaceful (now).
The days passed rather quickly and I spent a lot of time in my favorite swing thinking. Scorpius hadn’t sent me a letter or anything at all.
“Rose! Go take a shower sweetie, we’ll be leaving in an hour or so” Mom called from inside the house.
Today is Christmas Eve and all the family will be reunited at the Burrow, where we’ll be spending the night – again, don’t ask me how – and receiving presents the next morning.
“Sure Mum!” I entered the house and went into my bedroom. My hot shower helped me take my head of Scorpius and I got dressed in a simple-but-cute black dress (A/N- see the dress in the side ;). I put my hair in a fancy knot and applied a bit of makeup. I packed my stuff for tomorrow in Mum’s old beaded purse (she passed it to me) and went to the living room in order to wait for the others. They were already there.
“Finally! I thought you drowned in the shower!”
“Ha-ha, you’re so funny Hugo.”
“No fighting kids. Now that we’re all here we may go. Hugo, care to go first?” Dad gestured at the fireplace with the bag of Floo Powder. Hugo made a face 9(he hated using the Floo Powder) but followed the order, shouting clearly ‘The Burrow’ at the green flames. I went after him, closely followed by mum and finally dad.
“They are finally here!” Uncle Charlie, a.k.a the ‘cool’ uncle, shouted from the crowded living room.
“Sorry we’re late. Someone spent far too much time in the shower and getting ready.” Hugo said looking pointedly at me. Since I was mature and almost of age… I stuck my tongue at him. Not 17 yet!
“Own, Rosie was trying to be pretty for us!” James said making a pout. I hadn’t had time to respond because I was attacked.
“Hello Roxy and Lily”
“Hullo Rose, I need to talk to you later. Bye. HUGO! COME HERE YOU PRAT!” Lily went after him
“Hey Rose.” Roxy said. “Al was looking for you.”
“Great, where is he?”
“Bathroom”
“Talk to him later.”
She laughed.
“So… what’s up?”
“Hey you two!”
“Hey Vic” We said in unison.
“Have you seen Teddy?”
“He went to get his grandmother, I suppose”
“Thanks Rox. So girls, how are you doing? How’s school? Any news? Boyfriends?” Roxanne sent me a look and I blushed. “Uuh Rosie got a boyfriend?”
