Chapter 44rd
I was dragged into the Hospital Wing with a few shouts of protest but I couldn't stop Scorpius because I felt that if I opened my mouth again whatever remained inside my stomach would be no more. Madam Pomfrey didn't look all that excited to see me but then again, since I helped James and Fred to switch the headache potion with a pooping one back in second year, she never seems excited by the idea of me. I was young and impressionable and she can sure hold a grudge.
"What now Weasley?" I decided throwing up on her floor wouldn't get me any sympathy points so I let Scorpius do the talking.
"She just vomited. She seemed better this morning but she obviously wasn’t.” Madam Pomfrey eyed me and pushed me onto the nearest cot.
“Well, you don’t have a simple cold because that potion I gave you would’ve taken care of it but I also am not sure what it is. I’ll give you something for your fever-“
“Fever?”
“and also something to help you sleep.”
“But it’s the middle of the-“
“You'll obviously sleep here tonight and depending on how you’re feeling tomorrow, the next day too.”
“But-“
“Will you stop interrupting me, Weasley?”
“I’m sorry.”
“Well now, I’ll be back in a second with your medication.” She turned and left us lost of words… well, until Scorpius spoke after 2 seconds but until then, we were both lost of words. Because we are the perfect couple. If I am lost of words, he is lost of words. Is he talking?
“-because shit Rose, I don’t know what to do anymore.” He looks at me worried, expecting an answer.
“Sorry love, I was talking to myself and didn’t hear what you said.” He ran his hands through his hair.
“This is not a joke Rose, you vomiting is not a joke. I’m seriously worried about your well-being and apparently you are not.” We look at each other, daring the other to look away, when Madam Pomfrey comes back and sweeps me in a wave of medicine. We don’t get to talk anymore because next thing I know, my vision gets blurry, my head hits a soft surface and everything turns black.
After that I only remember a series of blurred images and voices, Scorpius’ blond head lowered next to me, Albus’ black one hoovering over me, a whole lot of red and orange all around, loads of noise but mostly there was darkness. When I did actually regained consciousness it was very silent and the light in the room was dim. Next to me on a uncomfortable looking chair was my dad fast asleep. It was obviously night but I doubted it was the same day that Scorp and I had a lovely outing in Hogsmeade.
The curtains shielding me from the rest of the Hospital Wing are drawn and Madam Patil comes in with a trail of medicine. She doesn't notice my open eyes at first, only after she has left the trail on the little table next to the cot.
“Oh Rose! You are awake!” She makes sure to keep her voice down as to not wake my father but he is an auror and stirs all the same.
“Rosie!” He jumps from his chair and awkwardly hugs me.
“How long?” I try to say but my throat hurts, probably from desuse. I’m less happy by the second.
“One day and a half.” Madam Patil says. Ok. Now I’m freaking out. I thought Madam Pomfrey only gave me something to sleep through the night not the freaking weekend and then some!
