Chapter Five: Face the Music

A/N: Alright everyone. Now we're getting down to the nitty gritty so be prepared to experience ranging emotions as we go along. Many of you have already experienced some but it may get more intense for you. That being said...leggo.  

AUTHOR'S POV 

~two weeks later~

The past couple of weeks have been very interesting to say the least. On one hand Larry was thrilled when he went back to the men's clothing store and told that the position was still available. The moment Edward told him his eyes lit up and it wasn't long after that he was hired. Larry is officially a fashion consultant at Couture Du Jour and after securing the job he surprised Laurent later that evening with a romantic candlelight dinner as a way of thanking him for his support. Afterward they shared an equally romantic slow dance before Larry led them to the bedroom to "thank him" some more. He was in full control of that erotic moment as Laurent laid back, welcomed and simply enjoyed it all. Laurent was happy to see Larry so happy and that he was indeed. Now having Laurent's support he's been granted an opportunity to work in fashion which was something he had always been into so it's no surprise that he showed up on his first day eager and ready to work. Within days Edward was very impressed at how well Larry knew what colors and styles complimented customers and the customers were pleased with his knowledge as well. Larry was on a great high for the first week...but as great as things were going at work things at home seemed to be taking a step back and a large step at that. Larry was holding up his end of the bargain to juggle his job while also taking care of their home. Meals were still on time and the house remained clean. Everything was on point just as it had been prior to but Laurent on the other hand was working more than he ever has thus not holding up the agreement he made with Larry. The case that had consumed so much of his time he won and without question Larry was extremely proud of him but the press Laurent and his law firm received from the win became the talk of the town. There were several news articles about it that had Laurent's picture attached with headings reading things such as "Laurent Bourgeois of Bourgeois Law Firm wins ground breaking case". News that big only generated more business for him and before anyone could blink he was taking on more cases with no thought and complete disregard of the deal he made with his husband. Naturally this has upset Larry and he's wanted to talk to him but he really didn't know how to do that without it leading to another argument. Now it's Saturday morning and unlike most weekends Larry isn't the one to sleep in like he usually does. He has to be at work in two hours so after freshening up he goes to the kitchen to make breakfast. He knows the smell of it will eventually wake Laurent up so he just lets him sleep for the time being. As he's cooking everything he figures since it's the weekend there's a greater chance that Laurent's defenses will be down and he can finally talk to him about how he's been feeling as they're eating breakfast together. He can only hope that it goes well...

A fresh glass of orange juice has been poured and after Larry piles some eggs, bacon and toast on Laurent's plate he turns around to bring it over to the table but Laurent is already there which startles Larry...

Laurent: "I'm sorry bebe". *kiss* "Good morning".

Before Larry can even reply Laurent is taking the plate and the glass of orange juice from Larry's hands and walking away. Larry thinks he's going to the table but when he passes it his face scrunches into confusion...

Larry: "You're not eating breakfast with me"?

Laurent: "Not this morning bebe. I'm going to my office to get some work done".

Larry: "But I have to talk to you baby". 

Laurent: "We'll talk later my love. I really have to work".
