A/N: To all my Laurent Ladies, I apologize in advance for the feels you might have reading this. I'm already tearing up and I haven't even started yet. :(

AUTHOR'S POV

Laurent wakes up to the sound of the waves in that beautiful body of water visibly seen from the bedroom crashing at a seemingly louder and somewhat more aggressive sound than usual. Normally there's a light and soothing sound to those waves so the fact that they're coming at a different speed is very symbolic because to him they represent the state he's in. It was only a couple of nights ago he found out that the man he loves has been having an affair...and the way he found out is what hits him the hardest. To hear them talking and Larry admitting that he feels a lot for him felt like something out of a movie. Of course the pain would have been just as bad, if not worse, had Larry confessed this news himself but...it still felt like someone literally ripped Laurent's heart out. Then he remembers someone did rip his heart out...Larry. He begins to reflect on the past few weeks. Larry being so closed off from him and Laurent not having a clue as to what was going on. The kisses he's tried to give him, the moments he's tried to make love to him. He remembers vividly. He also recalls the moment he asked Larry if there was someone else and Larry said no. He starts to internally beat himself up because...he believed him. The signs had been there the entire time yet, he believed him. Laurent thought Larry was in love with him...but there's no way he could be in love with him to do something like this. Then his mind jumps to the last time Laurent finally did make love to him. It's time Laurent admitted to himself that it didn't just feel different emotionally...it also felt differently being inside of him but Laurent really didn't want to believe that Larry was giving away something that belonged to him...something that was so sacred to him but most importantly the lovemaking he thought was so sacred to them. Now Laurent is feeling something wet in his ears and it doesn't take long before he realizes that it's the tears sliding down his temples as he stares at the ceiling. He also can't help but wonder at exactly what point this affair started. Was it when he stormed out during their argument over Laurent breaking their part of the deal? Was it when he came home and told Laurent that it had been a long day and he just needed a shower? When exactly did the first lie start and...how long had they been seeing each other before it happened? So many unanswered questions and now completely flustered Laurent turns over on his stomach to cry more...and it isn't a light cry. The crying is so hard that it shakes his body as the sound of it gets lost in the pillow his face is buried in. Which also just happens to be Larry's pillow and his scent is beaming from it. That only makes it worse yet his body is too weak and his heart is too broken to move. The crying continues until he's completely wiped out and now the only sound echoing are his sporadic sniffs. He eventually realizes that he has to pull himself up to get ready for work. His mind isn't in the place to work...but not showing up a second day to the firm he worked so hard to build is not something he can let happen again. He raises up and sits on the edge of the bed then takes a brief pause in the silence around him, exhales into it then stands up to get ready...

*****

Laurent is ready to go but before leaving the bedroom reality hits him. He's alone now and walking into the kitchen will be different. He's just realizing that he isn't smelling the aroma of bacon as it sizzles in the pan and when he opens the door he's hit with a strong silence. It's so quiet he can hear the sound of his own footsteps. When he turns the corner and the sight of the empty, quiet kitchen hits his eyes he feels his heart hurting. He gulps as he walks over to the cupboard to retrieve a glass for some orange juice and after pouring it he sips on it thinking about what he's going to cook himself for breakfast...but his appetite won't come. He just sips on his juice as more tears quietly roll down his cheeks. He won't be able to finish all of it nor will he stop anywhere for food. He simply isn't hungry. His primary focus is getting to the office because not only is he behind on work but there's also something he needs to say to Andrea and Dave...
