Chapter Twelve: Quandary

AUTHOR'S POV  

Laurent: "Larry? You in here"?

Larry's eyes immediately widen in fear as his mouth falls open in a panic. When Todd sees the look of fear in his eyes, his heart softens for it hurts him to see Larry so afraid. He leans forward and whispers in his ear, "answer him" but Larry appears to be frozen. It takes Todd whispering, "it's ok baby. Answer him before he gets closer". Larry nervously nods...his body trembling profusely. Todd notices this too so he takes his hand to smoothly rub Larry's arm. Then they hear Laurent call his name again which means Larry has one of two choices...ignore him and let him go away on his own or reply. Knowing Laurent as well as Larry does he knows ignoring him won't work and Laurent will continue looking for him so trying his best to sound normal...

Larry: "I'm in here Laurent. I'll be out in a minute".

Laurent: "Are you oki"?

Larry looks at Todd whose face is still soft as he continues to rub his arm. After a head nod from him Larry replies...

Larry: "I'm fine". 

Laurent: "Good. Well I'm going to order food for us now". 

Larry: *clears throat* "That...that will be fine. I'll be right out". 

Laurent: "Oki bebe". 

Todd and Larry wait until they hear the door swing open before saying anything...but as an extra precaution Larry, who had been unable to move, quickly goes to the door of the stall and peeks through the crack to make sure Laurent is really gone then he turns to Todd...

Larry: "I have to go. Please go back to your friends". 

Todd can't even respond before Larry is turning back around to unlock the door. Todd quickly stops him with a soft grip to Larry's arm... 

Todd: "Larry please. We need to talk". 

Now Larry is crying again and as he responds he simply can't stop the flow of tears...

Larry: "We don't have anything to talk for oki? Please just let me go".

Todd's expression on his face as he looks at Larry is nothing short of soft and loving. He hates that Larry is so upset and as much as he needs to say what he has to say he really doesn't want to upset Larry any further so he let his arm go then sadly watches Larry turn around to unlock the door...his hand visibly shaking as he does which makes it slightly difficult but when he finally unlocks it he opens the door and is out of the bathroom in no time. Todd drops his head in frustration and sadness from seeing Larry so fragile. He then takes a deep breath and leaves too...

Larry's nerves are all over the place and just before he's back with Laurent he stops to wipe his eyes, inhales and exhales softly before walking over and trying to appear as if he's really ok... 

Larry: "Hey". 

Laurent: *smile* "Hey my love. I ordered us some burgers and fries. Sodas too". 

Larry: "Oki. Sounds good".

Even though Larry tries to sound and look as normal as possible Laurent can clearly see that something is wrong...

Laurent: "Bebe you look like you're shaking. What's wrong"?

Larry: "Um. It...it's just a little cold in here. That's all".

 Laurent: "Oh. Well you will warm up once you bowl again. It's your turn anyway". 

Larry: "Yeah oki".
