Chapter Ten: Confession

A/N: Ok guys. This chapter will for sure have everyone experiencing a range of emotions so please prepare yourselves. You might also want to have some Kleenex on standby. 

AUTHOR'S POV 

Todd: "Andrea"!

The look on Andrea's face at the scene before her is beyond description. Here are two people who are supposed to be really good friends of hers with one of them being not only a good friend but her boss's husband. Still unable to say anything she just turns around and takes off for the front door. Todd calls out, "Andrea! Wait, please"! He throws some clothes and shoes on to run after her while Larry stays behind, at least momentarily, as he's too embarrassed to run after her with him. Andrea is out the front door and almost at her car when she hears Todd behind her running and calling her name, "Andrea?! Please hold on a minute"! Andrea really just wants to get in her car and drive off but then she realizes she really should hear what he has to say even though there's no possible way to explain what she just witnessed. She stops but she can't turn around and look at him just yet...

Todd: "Andrea, I know this is bad. I know it is but...."

That "but" instantly enrages her and she spins around so angry that her long hair practically slaps her in the face...

Andrea: "But what?!! Are you really going to try and explain this or make it seem like it's ok"?!

Todd: "No, I don't mean it like that. It just...."

Andrea: "It just what Todd? It just happened"? 

Todd looked at Andrea's hands as she quoted the word happened. Then...

Andrea: "I don't think so. You don't just happen to sleep with a married man and surely you didn't forget who this man is married to"! 

Todd being unable to look in her eyes any longer just stares at the ground...

Andrea: "Oh you need a reminder? He's my friend's husband asshole"!!

Todd: *deep sigh* "I know".  

Andrea: *scoffs* "Yeah, you know". *pause* "How long Todd? How long has this been going on"?

*silence* 

Andrea: "Answer me"!

The moment Andrea yells at him Todd jumps slightly. He then blows out a sigh as he runs his hand over his head...

Todd: "A few weeks now. It started shortly after we see him at his job". 

Her eyes widen at a few weeks...but then something comes to her. When she saw Todd earlier in the day she was teasing him about there being someone else. Larry is the someone else and she also remembers telling Laurent about her friend having a new person in his life. She can't believe she was unknowingly talking about Larry as his new someone. Now she's even more infuriated and knowing that Laurent has been driving himself crazy trying to figure out how to fix what's broken between them magnifies it. When Todd finally gets the balls to look back up at her and open his mouth to speak...

Todd: "Andrea, I...."

*slap*

Todd's head whips to the side as the loud smack burns his cheek...

Andrea: "Don't you say another...damn...word". 

With his head still turned he softly rubs the pained area and continues listening...
