chapter 68: welcome home

Everyone had held our kids and after they left I sat in the chair holding Melodic as Christina feed Christian jr.

"Does it hurt?" She looked at me lazily with a smile.

"Does what hurt love?"

"You know feeding him?"

"Oh no it doesn't hurt. You just have to get used to it."

"Thank you so much baby I love you and our little family." I looked over at Ashley and Faith sleeping on the sofa, he was holding her to his chest.

"I love our family too." I watched as she showed me how to burp Chris and traded her babies so Melodic could be feed. "I guess it's a good thing we got their room in order before today huh."

"Yeah I could imagine it being harder it we had to watch them and build things at the same time. Hey I never did ask you but what's in that locked room?"

"Oh it's a surprise and it was actually finished last week. I'll give it to you when we get home."

"It's for me?"

"Of course it is. What did you think it was for?"

"I don't know." I looked down and Chris was asleep in my arms. He's so small but I know he will grow up to be big and strong. I heard slight moving and looked up to see Ashley looking at us. "Hey man."

"Hey. They are really gorgeous guys."

"Thank you Ash and thanks for picking their names."

"Yeah it seems right seeing how special you will be to them."

"What does that even mean Christina?"

"You tell him CC."

"Well Ash if it weren't for you we wouldn't have met yeah the circumstances sucked for a first meeting but you know life turned out good. You have brought us together and supported our relationship even though we knew it hurt you. That's why we would like to ask you if you would be Chris and Melodic's godfather?" I watched as his shocked expression formed.

"Are you serious right now?"

"Ashley we don't want to push you out. You are a big part of our small family. You're more than just my ex-husband. You are both of our best friend. You gave me a beautiful daughter. You care about all of us so much and we all care about you. So of course we are serious about you being the godfather we actually never considered anyone else there was no question and no one who could compare. Ashley will you be their godfather?"

"Of course I would you guys. Thank you so much." He smiled bright like he just won the lottery.

"Hey babe can you find out when we can go home?"

"Yeah about that... I kind of jumped the gun and asked. The doctor wants you to rest up some and hopefully stay over night but we can leave in the morning."

"Oh well of that is the case maybe you and Ashley should take Faith home and you can come get me tomorrow morning."

"I'm not leaving you alone."

"CC please go to the house shower eat sleep and I will see you in the morning."

"Not happening."

"How about this instead Christina. He goes with us home, eats, showers and then comes back to stay the night with you and the kids. I'll watch Faith and we will be waiting for you both in the morning."

"How does that sound instead CC?"

"Better I'll see you in a few hours."

"Okay I love you guys."
