Daniella POV

It felt so good to be in my own clothes. My chest was throbbing yet I got the green light to fly to the east coast. I was meeting Gerald in New York city. A big charity dinner I had been dying to go to was finally in my sight. However Gerald had no clue I would be showing up at the same event in mere hours. Suzanne went out and got me a dress, careful to pick something that would not show my bandaged chest and not too uncomfortable. She even had washed my hair and helped me take a shower so I wouldn't feel so awful.

"You sure you're okay flying alone?"

" Yes ma, it's a private plane so I won't be alone there is a pilot, copilot, and waitress. I'll be okay."

"Okay well I packed everything you'll need for tonight and a couple days cause knowing Gerald he didn't do any laundry for you."

"I know, but hopefully Ellie did... Cause I can't be flying back right away. I'll too exhausted." A weak chuckle left me as I sat down in the wheel chair. I wouldn't admit it, but it took a ton of energy just to stand for those few moments. By some miracle Suzanne managed to get me to the awaiting taxi, unseen by the paparazzi awaiting my release. Suzanne even helped me all the way to the security gate after the long ride to the airport.

"Alright sweetie I love you... Give Gerald a big hug for me."

"O I will mama. We'll see you for Thanks giving right?"

"For sure!" She grinned before pulling me into one of those iconic bear hugs. A sigh escaping my lips once I had to leave the warmth of her hug. Slowly I made my way to the plane, Sitting down and catching my breath before covering with the blanket. This smelt like Gerald, even some of his things lingered on the private jet. Like a child I found comfort in such things and soon enough was fast asleep.

------

I felt the plane jolt once it touched down on the runway. Rubbing my sleepy eyes as I adjusted my seatbelt hooked over my blanket. A sigh passing my lips as I turned back on my phone, Gerald had been blowing up my phone with comments to get well and I love yous. I had to resist from answering the pilot helped me to the awaiting limo, thankfully a portion of my energy had come back as I began to frantically get ready with the use of the tinted windows as mirrors. Applying a thin coat of make up and lipstick. The hair would have to suffice, the loose bun on the plane ride here left some minor curls, looking possibility curled. Then the dress. Well after surgery so close to my heart tossing around the back of the limo trying to put on a dress was anything but easy. Finally I was able to relax for a whole few minutes before I had arrived. Photos snapped as I walked onto the red carpet. People hollering my name to get me to look their way. Then right before me was that iconic slicked back hair. Thankfully not that awful green I had seen on photos lately.

" Well look who dressed proper this evening." I smirked slowly walking up behind him, a stupid grin surely enough turned around and his arms wrapped around my torso. Lips locked with mine, the photographers going crazy.

" What a surprise, you feel well enough to be here?"

"Mmm with a little help." A laugh escaped me as he took my hand and guided me slowly along.

"You look beautiful D."

"Thanks babe... My chest is a little sore, but nothing a little time can't cure." His eyes glanced down to my chest, the bandage was well hidden, though from his bird's eye view it could probably be seen.

"Just let me know if you need to take a break." His hand squeezed mine as we slowly made our way inside out of camera view.

"Ah miss Evans and Gillum. Your table 2 with your other friends who have already arrived."

"Thank you." I flashed a smile before making our way to the table. Gerald letting me sit down before he pushed in my chair. Ellie and Grady grinning. Then there was Richard and Jessica staring at me as if I was a ghost. Richard's nose swollen and red, I forced a small smile before being distracted by the server pouring my water.

"What happened to Logic?"

" He said some shit... He's back on drugs at least what is what Marty tells me..." Moments later Blizzy joined along with Marty and Matt Gerald's other friend.

"So you punched him?"

" He was talking about you and him fucking D... In detail... Saying your pussy is so good and shit." His voice was hushed against my ear, somehow always giving my shivers. My eyes were now locked in Richard's a glare forming before I forced myself to look away.

"Relax Gerald... You know I'm yours." I ran my slender digits up his thigh, only brushing against the bump in his trousers. A smirk crossing his lips.

"Don't start something you can't finish. Plus I gotta make a speech don't give me a damn boner in front of all these people." We bursted out laughing. Truth be told he seemed healthy. Even sipping on his whiskey instead of chugging. Dinner was lobster or steak, I chose surf, the less effort to cut the things on my plate the less my chest would hurt. Then came time for the donations, speeches. Gerald made his way up the stairs and adjusted the mic, still having to bend down.

"Evening New York... I'm here because a part of me wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for the boy's and girl's clubs around the cities... Granted I grew up in the bay area, but New York is close to my heart. In fact when I lost my step mom Melissa it was the only way I could cope. My girl Daniella and I would escape from the streets and participate in whatever activity my mom sighed us up for that day." He chuckled for a moment before looking to me. "I know a lot of you were worried about her, but she made it tonight. D can you come up here?" My heart began to pound, Grady and Marty stood on either side of me, guiding me up to the stage where Gerald took over. Guiding me to the mic. "I wanna make a donation... In combination of what Danny and I have donated throughout our lives I wanna donate another $100,000 to the New York boy's and girl's club." The crowd went wild, I could help but smile at him. This was Gerald not G. "I got one more thing! Daniella Evans..." He took the mic and began to kneel. I felt light headed. "Will you marry me?" I nodded quickly as he took my hand and slipped on a ring. The crowd hollering.
