Example: "My parents are dead," I mumbled. A girl from behind looked over at me. "Are you Batman?"
Why This Is Annoying: We all have seen this at one point in our lives or another. Tv shows, Movies, Books, Video Games, etc.
How to Fix this: Honestly, the whole "dead parents" thing is getting so cliche. We all have seen this. In too many books then we can count. You guys are authors. Be creative. If the cliche is THAT important for the story then add it. But if that was the author's excuse that the MC was in the orphanage being adopted by 1D then, please. Don't add it.
