Chapter 9
*Luke’s POV*
“Back!” I shouted as I entered the kitchen, greeted by the cooking Katherine
“Where were you the whole morning and what the hell happened to your face?” She questioned
“I was at Claire’s.” I told her
“Oh.” She said back, the color sort of draining from her face
I guess she didn’t like Claire very much.
“We broke up” I quickly added
“Oh!” she said again, but much more differently this time
“That explains the red cheek. I am so sorry” Kat added sympathetically but I knew she didn’t really mean any of it.
“The irony in your words is killing me, Kat” I smirked at her
“Don’t judge! It was for the best” she told me, trying really hard to control her laughter.
“You can laugh all you want” I replied, narrowing my eyes.
She made her way towards me and hugged me. I hugged her back tightly.
“Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to invade your privacy or something” a voice came out of nowhere.
“Emma!” Katherine shouted and made her way towards Emma
“Where were you? Why did your mom call?” Katherine asked Emma
“My grandfather died and I had to attend his funeral” Emma said, with a look of despair on her face
“I am so sorry Emma” I added in.
Both the girl’s heads turned towards me and I realized I should probably go somewhere, other than here right now.
“It’s uhh okay” Emma replied and with that, I walked out of the door
*Katherine’s POV*
I was so upset about Emma’s grandfather. I knew him for a very long time and now that he was gone, I could only imagine what it must be like for Em.
“So umm, how do you feel now?” I asked her after hugging her for like three minutes
“I feel better, but still I wish there was some way I could get over it right now” she replied back
“I got an idea Emma!” I shouted because it was probably the best thing possible right now
