Anthony's POV
The final out came and went. We won the game 4-3. Everyone was ecstatic that we won, but then the relation hit, that Kris wasn't here with us. He was supposed to be here, but he isn't.
The guys joked around, but no one dared to say his name. I didn't even dare to speak, not trusting my words. I felt anger toward Kris, for some stupid reason. He wasn't here, making this team suffer. He didn't even call just to say that he won't be able to make it here or that he's stuck somewhere! He's making this team worry about his safety, and if he's somewhere enjoying life I'd...
"Hey, Riz!" someone said behind me, breaking my train of thought. I turned around and saw that it was Grandpa. "Everything will be alright, so you can calm down and get changed." He left before I could say anything back to him, so I did what he told me too.
I left about thirty minutes later, heading right to Kris's apartment. I heard that Kris's parents were on their way to Chicago. I don't blame them. I'd do the same exact thing if this was my kid that disappeared.
I grabbed Wrigley, Kris's kitten, and loaded her up in her cat carrier. I brought her over to my place for safe keeping until Kris gets back. Wrigley absolutely loves me, even more than Kris at times. That is extremely funny watching Wrigley be so warm to me and then be a devil cat to Kris. Okay, Wrigley doesn't get that bad, but you can clearly tell that she loves me more.
Once I was back to my place, I had no idea what to do. My wife, Jess, was gone at her parent's place, so I was completely alone, worrying about Kris. I didn't know what to do, and I don't think that I'll get any sleep thanks to Kris.
I called Kris's phone, for some stupid reason. I was secretly hoping that he would answer my call, so I could stop worrying. However, his phone went straight to voicemail, again. I left a voicemail for him too, "KRISTOPHER LEE BRYANT! You better call me back straight away, or I'll drop every off line throw from you for a MONTH! Do you heart that, Bryant! You'll start stock piling your errors!" I knew my threat was weak, but that was all I could think of at the time.
