Anthony's POV

Sitting in the Clubhouse, something felt off, something felt strange. I guess the other guys have felt it too, because all of the guys came up to ask me where Kris was. I wanted to snap that I wasn't his mother, but I truthfully was worried about him too. I have no idea where he could be instead of being here getting ready to kick some Brewer's butts.

Maddon came into the room with a very puzzled look on his face. "Has anyone seen Bryant today?" I could tell that he was worried sick about him. He looked around seeing that all of us was shaking our head. I know that my, Maddon's, and the whole team's heart sunk wondering where in hell he was. "Alright, I guess we must make do. Guys, I need all of you to keep minds on the game. Baez, you're playing third. I got to figure line up." He walked back into his office, leaving the rest of us in silence.

I picked myself out of my chair, and I made my way to Maddon's office. When I entered, I saw the older man stare at his tablet, not knowing what to do. "Joe, I guess I got to tell you something about Kris," I said before I sat in one of the blue chairs. "He told me that he was going to visit his girlfriend. I have never meet her before, but I know that he had to drive to Michigan to be with her. When Kris didn't beat me to the ballpark, I called him, but his phone right to voice message. Don't worry I already left him seventy-two messages so once he finally gets them he'll be annoyed. I found this sticky note in the top of his locker. I recognize the name as his girlfriend's name, so I called her. She said that he was there for three seconds, walking in on her cheating on him. She has no idea where he is. This does not look good, Joe."

He looked at me, shocked. "Thanks Anthony, I'm going to get the PR team to handle this. This will be front page new for sure..." I nodded at him, grimly.

"I'm going to start warming up. Let me know, okay," I said before I left the office. Majority of the guys was already out of the room by the time I was out there.

Before I knew it, I was taking BP with Ross, Fowler, Baez, Russel, and Heyward like normal, but we were missing Kris. We were still joking around and enjoying life, but when it came to the time when Bryant is usually in there, everything went silent once more. It was like he was gone, dead more like it. But Kris couldn't be dead, he just couldn't be. He got to be somewhere.

Fowler quickly broke up the silence. "Let's play a game, 'Where is Bryant?'"

Ross quickly said laughing, "On some remote island trying to get away from us!" I knew that he was playing along to try to make this situation as something good for the team than a negative.

"With a shrink because being Cub's golden boy has finally taking its toll on him!" Heyward joined in.

"He finally started drinking and is at home sleeping it off," I said. If Ross can join in on this, then I could too. Beside Joe, Gramps is the only other person that I told about the situation that laid in front of us.

Everyone laughed at that because we all knew that he has never drank in his entire life. Fowler quickly interjects, "That would be the day. No, I think that he met someone and this hit off."

The other guys around us quickly joined in the game, and before I knew it the whole team plus coaches was playing this fun game. I almost helped me forget everything I knew about the situation that was facing us. Well I almost hoped that it did, too.

When we reentered the Clubhouse, on the T.V.s they were talking about the situation with Bryant. The headline, 'Bryant's Reported Missing' was plastid on the screens. I know that all the guys were shocked when they say it, but thankfully someone turned off the T.V. before we started to listen to the screens.

I figured that this was going to happen but already? We have a game to get ready for and this is something that we definitely didn't need. 'Why Bryant, why couldn't you just have not gone! Why couldn't you just call us telling us that you're alright and that everything was perfectly fine. That you just got stuck somewhere and that you'll be home in a couple of days. Why couldn't he just do that to help us! We are a team, aren't we?'

Hey, I hope that you enjoyed this part. I am just posting a new story that is baseball oriented, but it is not a fanfiction. I hope you check it out. It's called "The Story of Them". I hope that all of you have a great day, and I'll talk to you guys later.
