I held Josalynn as Margret harassed Jeff to get bathe, change, and brush his teeth for bed. Ed was fiddling with his records, trying to find the right one. Everything was peaceful and quiet. The rain still pounded on the roof, making a background drum.

Josalynn grabbed my hand and stood on my lap, smiling at me. "Keris," she said, trying to say my name.

"Yes, Josalynn," I said, flashing a huge smile back to her.

"Keris, Keris, Keris, Keris!" She started yelling my name as she jumped on my lap. I was confused on what was going on, but from the other side of the room, Ed looked at us and laughed.

"She wants an airplane ride." The way he said that, it sounded like I should have already knew that, but I didn't.

I grabbed Josalynn by the waist, and picked her up. I didn't technically know how to do the airplane ride, but I swung her around. She laughed and giggled for the minute or so.

She hanged from my neck as I sat back down. She didn't let go, so all I saw was her brunet hair. I had to admit that she was completely a cutie. She possessed her brother and grandpa's energy and her mother's beauty, even if they had different color hair.

"Josa, honey," I heard Margret say. "It's time for you to get off to bed." Margret grabbed the little munchkins from me, and they left.

And then it was just me and Ed. Just like the beginning of the day, just me and Ed. "So what do you think of my family?" he asked smiling over at me, but he kept his glaze was his records.

"I like them, Ed."

I heard him laugh to himself, "Well, I think that you more than like my daughter."

I looked at him, confused. "What do you mean about that?"

"She's single you know. Well, she is married to her children, but romantically, she's single. I don't believe that she ever saw a guy that she liked, until you walked into this house. She's smitten with you, and you are with her."

I didn't know what to think about what Ed said, or how to react. We sat there in silence as I thought about what he just said.
