Chapter Twelve: Imprinted- what?

I was silent. I don't know what to say or how to react!

If it were years ago that he said this, I would've felt something- I would've jumped right into his arms right away but right now? It didn't feel right.

Eversince that night of the dinner party I didn't feel anything for him.

"I don't know what to say..." I said.

"Say you like me too." Trent said.

"Then I'd be lying." I muttered.

He looked at me surprised, "Bobby, I've imprinted on you for years. Don't tell me the other one imprinted on you first."

Imprint? Other one? What is he on about? I looked at him confused.

"I don't know what you're saying." I said. "What is imprint? Who is the other one?"

Trent shook his head, got money from his pocket and slammed it on the counter. He rushed out of the restaurant, I got the money and then Alice and Manny came rushing in.

"Was that Trent?" Manny asked and I nodded. "What did he do here?"

"He just came to talk." I said.

"Uhh-ohh what kind of talk?" Manny said.

"The I like you kind of talk." I said.

"I knew it!" Manny exclaimed. "What did you say?"

"I don't like him." I said.

"Well, he is still handsome and hot why don't you like him back?"

"Well, remember the dinner party?" I asked Manny and he gave me a nod.

"I walked out of the party when Selena was there. While I was walking I came across the park then I saw some kind of murder happening-"

"What! Why didn't you tell me!"

"Wait, Manny. Let me finish."

He gave me a nod but not before rolling his eyes.

"The culprit saw me and ran after me. Trent helped me by grabbing me into his car then when I told him what happened he looked really serious then said 'this was a mistake.' Then I told him that I knew that this was going nowhere and got out of his car he wanted me to come in but I told him that I don't want him having another mistake and I don't want to see him again. He just left- he left me, I was just testing him if he'd say sorry or something."

"But he just left you." Manny said and it was my turn to nod.

"You don't deserve a guy like that." Alice said.

I nod at her and sat down. "Alice, can I take the day off tomorrow?"

"Yeah sure. You've done so much these past few days." She said hugging me.

"Thank you." I said smiling. "Where is Julian?"

Alice smiled knowingly, "You miss him don't you!" She teased.

I feel my cheeks flush, "No!"

Manny laughed, "The baby girl is growing up!"

"I do not miss him!" I said defensively.

"Okay." Alice said.

"I really don't miss him." I said clarifying them.

"Why are you so defensive about it?" Manny said raising a brow at me.

"I just want you both to know that I don't miss him." I said.

Both of them laughed, I glared at them.
