01 | The Crush

A/N: So excited for you guys to read my first chapter! Hope you enjoy it. The cast list is on the side if you're wondering you plays who :)

Starting out as a freshman kinda sucks. There'd be new people to deal with. I was now at the bottom of the pyramid. It's not like I was ever at the top anyways. Whatever.

Now, I rushing to get ready because I had overslept. Fail Tori, fail.

I took a quick shower and brushed my teeth. I literally didn't know what to wear. I just threw on a pair of dark blue, Hollister skinny jeans. Then I took a random Abercrombie top and threw that on as well. My mom had made breakfast. Now, if my mother knew me at all, she'd know I'd sleep over the sound of my alarm and would later on be rushing to get ready, but no. She made me food, anyways.

As my parents hurried me, I took a big gulp of juice and grabbed two pieces of bacon and waved my mom goodbye. As my dad and I ran into the car, we drove quickly to school. My dad said good luck as I ran to my new school. I hope I'd see my best friend; Emily.

I walked inside the huge and old building and tried to find my way into the office for my schedule. I asked a random girl passing me and she told me her name was Jenna and that the office was to the left. I thanked her and went to the office. The lady asked for my name and grade, I said that I was Tori Jenkins and that I was a freshman. She gave me my schedule and as I looked at it I was starting to get a little scared. I had a lot of new subjects that I didn't know a clue about. My first class was in less than three minutes so I quickly looked for Emily.

As I speed walked through the halls, I bumped into someone. I dropped my book-bag but this person nicely picked it up for me and gave it to me. "So sorry." I said to him, he said it was his fault, but it really wasn't. I got up and met a pair of beautul, brown eyes. "I-I'm Tori.'' I stuttered.

"Hey,I'm Nick. Freshman?" he said. I starred at him for a while until I nodded my head, he chuckled. After a moment of awkward silence, I asked him if he was a freshman like me, looking surprised he said no, that he was a sophomore. We said our goodbyes and started to go our separate ways.

It was the first cute guy I meant and I already bumped into him and was out of his league. I turned around and saw him hugging a really pretty girl. I sighed.

Still searching, I finally found Emily. "Emily!" I yelled, she turned around and screamed and then we hugged. She looked great. And I mean it. Her hair was straightened from her natural, wavy brown hair. She was wearing a Obey t-shirt and jeans. Even Emily could rock that look, as for me, I was a hot mess. But whatever.

We started to look at each others schedules to see if we had any classes together. Fortunately, we had all classes together except for one, she had biology while I had physics. We separated to go to our first class apart. As I walked into class, I saw him. Nick. A smile plastered on my face when I realixed we had a class together.

He waved to me and gestured for me to sit next to him. As I was walking to him, I tripped and fell. I was always a clumsy girl but today, so far was just too much. He got up from his seat and helped me up and we walked to our seats.

''You know you're really clumsy, Tori.'' he said, smiling. I laughed and nodded. He remembers my name. As I took out my binder, someone had tapped me on the shoulder.

As I looked up, I recognized it was that really pretty girl that Nick was hugging, she looked at my coldly and said, "You're in my seat".

"Oh, sorry", I said.

As I was getting my stuff and about to get up, Nick said" Can't you sit somewhere else, please?"

"Fine." she said, smiling to Nick. As she walked away, she turned around in my direction and gave me a nasty frown.

"That's my girlfriend, don't mind her." Nick whispered as class started. I said ok and discovering that he was taken, I was as sadder than ever. I went to class after class with Emily, still thinking about Nick.

He was perfect, the total package. He was sweet, friendly, and caring. He respected the teachers, guys and girls. There was only one bad thing, he was taken and of what I saw from his girlfriend, she was not friendly and not at all; nice, she was just a pretty face. The bell rung, it was finally lunch, great because I am starving.

I went on the long lunch line with Emily. "Is something bothering you, Tori?" said Emily.

"No." I lied. "I'm just tired, I rushed this morning because I overslept." I said. She nodded, understandingly. When we got our lunch, we found and sat at a empty table.

And what do you know, here comes Nick's girlfriend telling me that this is her table. Seriously, how does she have her own damn table. Emily, being her immature-self said, ''Finders; keepers, losers; weepers." She scoffed and scurried away to Nick.

Nick mouthed, ''Sorry.'' to me and I gave me that OK gesture. I found out what her name was; Tiffany. Well than...

So far, I wasn't enjoying high school. I now have a crush and an enemy. All of this in one day. I don't want a crush, I don't wanna be in love with someone. I've had in the past and it's hurt me badly on the inside.

For the next two weeks, I lay low from Nick. I didn't want to craze over another guy for the rest of my high school years. In the classes I had with him, I sat far away from him. I didn't want to ignore him but I didn't want my heart broken all over again in the shadows.

I never told Emily about my crushes or anyone because I'm afraid they might end of being a backstabber and tell everyone. But that was then and this is now. Things do change. Maybe one day I'll reveal my secrets. One day. Not today, of course. After all that thinking, something bittersweet happened. For the first time, the world was in my favor.
