Chapter 37

"MICHAEL QUICK I NEED YOU TO COME TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!" Luke shouted down the phone.
"Okay, okay I'll be there in 5" I replied, got Rio's things sorted, got the car keys then ran to get into the car. I slammed on and drove very quickly down to the hospital.
"Hello-" I started to speak to the receptionist when Luke shouted me over.
"Mike, over here" he said waving his arms in the air. I ran over to him holding Rio in my arms.
"What's happened??" I asked Luke before going into a room.
" Caitlin" he replied holding his head in his hands.
"What?" I asked confused. He said nothing, just opened the doors. There I saw Ashton and Calum sat in chairs with Kacey and Ellie. "What's happened?" I asked again.
"Caitlin was in a really bad car accident.." Luke said tearing up. He opened the door wider allowing me to see Caitlin. She was pale, paler than usual. She had cuts and bruises all over.
"Aitin" Rio attempted to shout of Caitlin.
"Here I'll grab Rio" Kacey said jumping off Ashton's lap. "Come to Kacey" she said bouncing with Rio in her arms.
"Hey beautiful" Ashton said running his index finger down Rio's right cheek.
"Ash" Rio shouted holding her arms out for Ashton to grab her.
"Caitlin?" I asked for a response from her. I got none, I touched her hand, it was ice cold and as white as paper. A nurse with short brown hair "Is she going to be okay?" I asked the nurse.
"We're doing everything we can" she replied
"But you said that about tash, and now she's dead" Ellie shouted
"We are very sorry for your loss. But we are trying everything we can." She said with a quieter tone.
"Okay" I replied
"Could you all go and wait in the waiting room please?" She asked as 3 doctors, all with brown hair, walked in. And here we are again, in the waiting room, where minutes feel like hours and hours feel like days. I can't loose Caitlin, I've already lost Tash! I can't loose one of my bestfriends as well! As I sat there with my baby girl and the remaining of the squad.
"So what exactly happened?" I asked Luke as I turned to face him.
"She rang me before setting off in the car saying that she was setting off from yours and that she was just sat looking at Tasha's photos, then she said bye, love you and set off. Then I got a call from the hospital saying that Caitlin had to be rushed in because of a car crash. Some stranger saw the full thing, they was here when I got here but then left. They said that she was just driving and then a drunk driver came out of nowhere and when she tried swerving out of the way they hit her" he said crying.
"It's okay! She'll be fine yeah?" I told him putting my hand on his shoulder. I sat there and all I could hear was dead silence and the horrific ticking of the clock once again. Then suddenly a doctor came over with a sour face-
