"So what's your deal?" He asked. "What do you mean?" We have been driving in silence for an hour now. "Well you seemed as if I was insane earlier about us running away and I see you running around the streets in the middle of the night ready to go. Are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah. I just have a lot going on." I stared at my hands. "Let's try getting to know each other." He suggested. "Um. Okay... Well what do you wanna know?" I asked. "Why did you move to Red Pine?" He asked. "Uh... My family wanted to." "No one wants to move to Red Pine, you were either born here or you want to run away from something." He said. "We just had to. Why do you wanna leave Red Pine?" I asked. "Family problems. My family sucks." "What happened?" I asked. He just shrugged and stared at the road ahead. "Just, things are happening right now and I feel that I don't need to be there." I looked back to the road ahead of us. "What's your favorite color?" He asked. "Blue. Yours?" "Blue." "It's like we're twins." I joked. He chuckled and looked at me. "Do you have any pets?" He asked. "No, we used to, he died. His name was Biscuit, he was a Lab, and my best friend. Then he died and I never had another dog because my mom didn't like to see my sad." I said. "Tragic." "Very." "I had a cat. I hate cats. My grandma gave me her cat because she forgot she was allergic to cats." I laughed. "She forgot she was allergic?" "She claims that when there is a cute animal in front of you, you tend to forget things, like being allergic to the cute animal." I laughed even louder. "I would love to meet her." I said. "She died." My laughter ended. "Oh." Was all I could muster. "It's okay, it happened a while ago. I'm okay now."
A few hours had past and now we were in New York. I've been here a ton, but now it just feels different. "Let's get a hotel and we can hang out tomorrow." Blake suggested. "Okay." He pulled into The Plaza. "Whoa, I can't afford this." I said. "It's fine. I've got you covered." "No, you don't have to do this." I said. "This is where I'm staying tonight, you can join if you want." He said. I looked at him and observed the smirk he gave me. "Fine. I'll stay with you."
We were checked in and settled into the room. The place was beautiful, I loved it here. I sat on the bed and waited for Blake to leave the shower. I heard the shower turn off and seconds later Blake came out with nothing but a towel around his waist. "Whoa." I looked away not sure of what I should do right now which caused a chuckle from him. "What, you've never seen a shirtless guy before?" He asked. "I mean yeah but I had time to prepare for those instances. Like when me and my friends went to the lake we knew that guys would be there and they would be shirtless, we just know these things." I said. "Oh, well I'll give you notice four hours in advance then." He said. "Good." I adverted my attention to him and tried not to gawked at his perfect body. I wanted to reach out and touch him. I noticed the water on his abs and I grew jealous of water. I quickly looked away and turned the TV on. "What do you wanna watch?" I asked. "Doesn't matter, I'm actually going to sleep so it's up to you." "Oh, well I'm just gonna take a shower then I'll head to bed too." I said. "Okay." I gathered my stuff and head to the bathroom.
The shower was long and peaceful, I had a lot of time to think about this moment only to realize that I am okay with my decision. Running away was a good choice for me. I stepped out and dried my self off. I got dressed and opened the door the light from the bathroom lit up the room and I saw Blake's face. He looked so peaceful and charming. I smiled at him and let out a light laugh as I heard his small snores. I turned off the light and walk to the bed and drifted off to sleep.
